  1. I took my buddy out with me when I did my last sight in. I used my New Englander, and he used one of our Traditions Hawkens program gun. No joke, at 50 yards he nailed his bullseye first shot (left target) and never got anywhere close after that (note the high left hit on the right target). Regardless, we left and he said that he needs to get one because it was so much fun.
  2. I've been bit hard by the ML bug, and am excited to take my TC New Englander out this month. I'm curious who else hunts with a sidelock gun. I'd love to see some photos!
  3. I think all you can do is ask. Obviously the have no obligation to move, but hopefully you can come to an agreement.
  4. 140yds, facing towards, that is about as unethical of a shot as I've ever see, even if he got lucky and spined it in the rear quarter. People like this should be shamed by the hunting community, not famed. Lets hope that "fame" is short lived...
  5. Private would be my preference, but I don’t have a lot of experience with public ground.
  6. Welcome Stone, a lot of great information here. I too am curious where you're located. Also wanted to mention that seeing your title made me think that we were going to have a good old fashioned "stoning"...
  7. Welcome. I don't have much advice to offer for your area, but I'm sure you'll find some good advice around here.
  8. Great story, I'm sure it was frustrating, but it sounds like you came to terms with it. I hope you get another shot at him.
  9. Unfortunately there weren’t any leftovers in my area. Oh well...
  10. One of those would tear you up! Cool pic.
  11. I’ve really been bit by ML bug. The process of it is almost therapeutic, and I even enjoy the cleaning process. It also helps that loading supplies are still reasonably easy to find, so I don’t worry about burning through my stock pile.
  12. I heading to Corinth tomorrow to Bob’s Bait to grab another tin or two of percussion caps and hopefully a permit. They are always helpful and knowledgeable there. I need all the help I can get.
  13. Sounds like your scope got bumped if it was that far off. At least you’ve got a couple of sighted in rifles now, it’s a good feeling.
  14. From what I understand, dmp’s go back on sale tomorrow, is this correct? If so, can I go to a licensing agent to purchase one, and what information do I need. I’d like the option to take a doe during regular season, but missed the October deadline. Not a huge deal, but if there’s a chance I can get a permit, I’d like to give it a shot. Thanks in advance for the help.
  15. You've got some brown on there, not all white, which isn't a bad thing. I would still give him sometime. The rain/snow isn't going to help things, but you don't want to push him. Did you find much blood where you jumped him? Hopefully he'll bed down and you can recover him.
  16. I think Grampy's got the best advice on this one, looks like fat to me. What did the shot look like?
  17. I’ve always used Hoppes and never had any issues. For my ML, I use a mix of 50/50 Murphy’s Oil Soap and Windshield Washer Fluid.
  18. Great videos, I'll be subscribing!
  19. Early voting takes place in the building I work in. Yesterday the line formed an hour and a half before voting opened (noon) and when I left at 5, there was a line down the block. It never let up. My wife came and waited an hour and a half. I plan on jumping in line Thursday or Friday. Regardless of who you support, it’s nice to see people performing their civic duty.
