I looked at the rack many times and would have it scored as they did. Typical with one abnormal point making it a deduction and removing it from world record contention. (I am not a scorer...) Still a hell of a buck, did he really sell it? WT I could never sell any of my deer, it is too personal and brings back memories every time I come in the front door!!! Did he sell it with the intention of getting it back when the contraversy is over??? Thanks for your insight Joe your knowledge and experiance is highly valued and greatly appreciated!

Looking forward to seeing some good video. Hope you have a good weekend!

Lets do it again!!! -
Test it out before you purchase it. Make sure it feels right! Sounds like a good bow. Good luck if you get it!

Welcome to the forum Sam, hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!! Great bunch of people here, like Elmer said we like to argue during the off season just because we are not out hunting!!! Do not take anything said personal, we all have opinions and like to talk about everything and argue our points, some times a little to much... Again welcome aboard and hope to see your oppinion!

OMG house ownership sucks!!! LOL I am just ranting because I have not gotten out to fish this year and my new boat is sitting idle in my yard... Thier is just not enough time in the day!!! Between yard work, house maintenance and vehecle repairs I am finding no time for fishing/scouting this year so far. Good thing is I still have all of my 21 + days of sick/vacation time. Good job with the walleyes Pygmy and keep that spot a secret!!! And yes show some pics PLEASE!

Just because they jump the string does not mean you can not get a good shot off, I sudgest if shooting that far with any bow or cross bow to use a call during the shot to reduce the chance of them jumping... EX: Call while shooting to reduce the chance they will hear and jump the string... I can not say it will work but I figure it can not hurt as long as your call does not spook them. DO it just before releasing, practice with your bow in off season with call while shooting... People might look at you wierd but if you get a nice deer who cares... I figure the call will disguise the string release slightly or just enough to allow a good shot... If done properly the deer should not jump as much with the string release alone. This is just a theory, what do you think???

I just switched to the D-loop this year and have a new release. My old string release for the MQ1 is still working great after 12 years, never oiled it... Always dried it off after rain or humid day... I use to hit my arm a lot and only waxed the string one or two times a year due to replacing it every year. I wonder if the wax on the release is what made it work for so long as I have never oiled it...

That is my main point. Stats can be manipulated to reflect what you want them to... And I disagree with NYS in the fact that they do not include all releated injury/deaths. Hunting is one of the few sports where getting shot and killed is a realistic thing to worry about and to paint the picture any other way is misleading... I played many sports as a kid and my parents would have never let me handle a gun during those years, not to mention hunting... The main reason is they knew the facts about hunting and it's safety factors don't mean anything if some idiot shoots me with or with out BO... And that is a real threat that can happen any time any place while hunting... Any injury that can happen in any other sport can happen while hunting. Try climbing with a day pack and a gun, easy no, dangerous yes!!! And if you fall you can be killed. Animal attacts, drowning, hypothermia, getting lost, sprains, broken bones, heart attacts, tree stand or broad head injury, you may call hunting safe yet I see it as one of the most dangerous adventures I take every year. PS: Doc I did wait a long time due to a few things. I wanted to see if this guy was included and check some other info...

I wonder if those are the same people who MADE UP the stats for last year? NYS Tied for 1st Safest hunting state. We supposedly tied for safest state yet this poor guy is not incuded in those stats. And you wonder why I do not give a shit about stats...Stats are made up by the person doing them, and he will do anything to get the stats in his favor to prove something... Like BO is safe. If that is the case then NY as a safest state should have every other state follow us and allow half the state to not use BO so they can keep up with our stats... Plain and simple if you are in a area with a lot of hunters one of them is probably a idiot so wear BO!!! Unfortunatly this guy meet the one idiot in his remote area... If I have hunters using high powered rifles and black powder while I am hunting with a bow during bow season Norther zone, should BO be required for Bow season? Because that is what happened last year, I was encircled by other rifle and black power hunters. PS: None were in BO just like me. But if BO is Proven to save lives then make every one where them if in around or near any woods, lets say 100-200 ft. If you are caught in the woods during any hunting season with out BO you should get fined... All hikers, boaters, campers, picnic area's and any other area that MIGHT have a hunter in it would be required BO or a 500 fine to make sure all wear it and NYS is safe... Sarcasm at it's finest! How far do you want NYS to protect you? IF you are such a BO safety advocate get this law passed to save us poor NYers. It will save some one thats for sure... I just think every law that is passed takes away a little more freedom. While I do advocate safety first, the last thing I worry about is getting shot buy some idiot up north, now in the south that is another story. BO is a matter of oppinion for each hunter and in my oppinion it did not save this guy and makes me wonder if that is why he is not included in the NYS Safest of all states Stats from 2011...

I understand, I just set up my sprinklers on friday and it poored out, murphy's law... The last few days we had rain here on the Island which my lawn loves!!! Yet I am sure if I had crops planted upstate they would be in trouble. I will perform my rain dance for you!

Ditto to Splitg2, Sky your pic's are amazing!!! The reason he get such good pic is like he said he spends hours doing this and checking and setting up spots... His interest and love for what he does showes in his pics!!! Truely amazing!!!

Where do you get your water from?
-
They would still be pulling me off, and I don't have kids, yet you mess with my Godchild or any of my friends kids and you will not get a free pass... I do not know that my blind rage would show any remorse... God Bless this poor child and the family.

One of the nice things in NY is the water supply. Thankfully the deer know where to get it. I always wondered what it would be like to have on a coat like a deer in summer... Even though thats the "light" coat... First Light you make me glade I did not take that job in the city so many years ago!!! I hate commuting and I hate large crowds of poeple so the city is not for me... The less than 2 mile commute to work is much more relaxing...

I agree Growalot could be a car or a really bad fall. Hopefully he will be ok.
-
Good luck with it!!! Looks nice!
-
Supposedly when in growth they have a unusually high concentration of hormones. They use it as a steriod and it is undetected supposedly... Guese it helps the deer after they shed the velvit and eat the remains... They say the bull shark has the highest amount of testosterone in it's system, I wonder how a whitetail would stack up in that department while in prime rut...
-
Good luck Wesley!!!

Nice pic's, some really nice deer WNY! Good luck with them!!!

And people wonder why I do not get my avatar (2010)buck scored... While I can not say I will never get it scored, I do not need a number to put on my deer except his 207 lbs dress wieght... I see nothing wrong with scoring but it does turn into a pissing contest many times from what I have seen... This is a perfect example of that. It should be about the experience and the thrill of the hunt yet when ever a big buck is killed contraversy and accusations seem to follow. The hunter should be proud to have taken such an amazing deer, the fact that it could be a new world record drives him to get it scored and I see nothing wrong with that... The internal fighting about this deer shows how divided and stupid hunters can be and makes me second guese the validity of B&C. What a shock another hunter controversy... I wonder if thier will ever be anything we can all agree on. While each orginazation has it's own agenda I believe we need these organizations to stand up for our rights. We are much more powerful as a united voice than individuals alone. And while no organization is perfect or represents everything we stand for they do help in our efforts to keep hunting alive...
