You can bring as many guns as you want. Just remember you can't shoot a deer with a rim-fire or with bird shot. You more then likely not going to see any deer if your shooting guns off at other things. So make up your mind on what you want to hunt.

I don't know if this will help. Something similar happen at Rattlesnake Hill WMA. Rattlesnake sits in 2 counties 1 county was rifle the other was not. The DEC would use what county you were parked in, to determine if you were legal for rifle or not. Now both counties are rifle now

the DEC punches holes in the tag so they don't check the same deer twice. I ask the DEC tech. Why they put the holes in the tag.

this is cool while picking up my sons deer from a processor in Ogden, in the pile of deer getting ready to be worked on was a all White deer so I went to check it out. The deer was a true Albino pink nose,eyes, ears inside and the hoofs had no color and it was a spike. I was told it was killed in Wheatland ny. Sorry I didn't take a pic left my phone home.

Good old 444 marlin (THOR'S HAMMER) with 265gr flat points reloads. I don't like to chase them down now that i'm getting older.

After about 40 years of reloading there are a couple things I've learned. One muzzle energy means little if you can't put the bullet where it belongs and once a bullet passes all the way though a animal any remaining energy is useless. Two there's a lot to be said for momentum and DEAD IS DEAD you can't make it deader. So a 44mag would be good enough for the average range a deer is killed in NY.

I have never killed a deer with a 44mag rifle. But I have killed 11 with a 44mag handgun. Including my only double kill at 60yds. The 2nd deer the 210gr hp went 2/3's of the way though that deer. The bullet hit the joint of the left leg travel though the chest cavity, liver and the stomach then exited in front of the right hip. Every deer I have shot with the 44mag has gone though the deer. I would give the 44mag a 8 out of 10. like others have said there is no such thing as a brush gun.

I do dark to dark sits all the time after Nov.1st the only time I clime down is to eat my lunch (I wont eat in my the stand) or to change stands. Most of the time I sit all day in the same stand.

I'm a big supporter of life lines, because one saved my life. That does not mean I didn't get hurt but I think I would of died if I had not used it. Here's the story: I had lost the key to the lock to one of my tree stands, I thought I found the key so when I went to do some work around where I hunt. I took the key with me along with my harness. Went to the stand and thought about not putting my harness on because I was not going all the way up the tree. I was just going high enough to reach the lock. I put my harness on and attached it to the life line and started up the tree, sliding the knot up as I went along I got almost to where I could reach the lock and stepped on a peg the peg pulled out of the tree. I fell less then a foot but one peg caught me under the chin and another got me under my ribs on my the right side. I ended up with a bruise under my chin and a bruise on my liver. If I did not have the life line the hit to my chin would of ripped my jaw off and the hit to my stomach would of ripped me open not to mention the 10 foot fell.

Just to let you know he moves slower than pond water because he's missing part of a leg.

does anyone mess with scam callers? I started messing with them last summer when I was out with a knee replacement. I was bored and kept getting calls. So I started F---ing with them. One of the things I would do is speak to them in German that pisses them off.
