over all my season been good seeing lots of deer and have put one on the ground.

If your friend really needs to shoot 500 yards at an elk. Any chances of light recoil went out the window. He will need something like a 300 mag. So he can send a 180gr. Bullet down range with enough force to put an elk down.

Putting an AR in place will not help the deer herd. Killing a buck no matter how big or small will not increase the size of the deer herd contrary to what some people believe bucks are expendable. The major way to control the deer herd is by increasing or decreasing the doe harvest.

Hey guy’s is there anything in the 5 year plan that is going to force you to change the way you hunt or stop you hunting all together. If not then what’s all the arguing about. No one got all the wanted out of the plan.

no it's not a bible camp and we hunt from dark to dark that means we go out in the dark and by the time we get back its dark. one more thing i out grew going out driking and paying good money to feel like shit the next day back in my 30's. and i didn't say we didn't drink.

As for 7 more wmu’s in the Catskills going to AR’s. It smells more like, locals and land owners not wanting those other people hunting their deer. If you make it harder to get a deer they may go somewhere else. -

With the wind generally out of the west I think I would hunt stands 3,4,6 and 7 in the morning and 6,4,3 and 7 in the afternoon you should get thermals coming down the hill in the afternoon. Also is there apples on the trees if there is I would hunt 6 all day till the apples are gone.
