Here goes this is how my season went. On trail cam I had 4 bucks that would score between 125 & 140. During bow I saw deer almost every time I went out. The day I shot the doe I got I saw 12 deer plus the 1 I jump that was bedded under my stand. I also saw this deer (see pic.) So over all I had a good year

I would go with the 308 you are only hunting deer a 308 is all you need. More than enough power for deer or bear.

Usually you don’t shoot high if the target is out of range. You should shoot low. The gun may not be sighted in properly. You didn’t say if the gun is scoped or not. Need more info

It depends on what I’m loading, if I’m loading handgun ammo I will do one of 2 things. I have a little dandy made by RCBS it has different size rotor’s seeing I only use h110 or 296 in handgun loading they throw very good. I will also use a powder measurer and a RCBS 10/10 scale. For rifle I weigh every charge on my 10/10 scale because I for the most part load rifle with extruded powder and that does not throw well. If i were loading with ball powder I would use the measurer and the scale to set and check 1 out of 5 or 10 to make sure the measurer is still on. The most important thing in reloading is doing the same thing every time and don’t go onto the next step till you finish the step your on. DO NOT MULTI TASK!!

I would go with the RCBS kit and press it is the most common. Other co’s make very good kits and presses. As for dies I would try dies from different companies they will all fit your press. I would get a powder measurer so you can throw charges you will find ball powder will throw easier than stick powder.

i have a 6mmbr in a xp100 and can shoot 2" groups at 200yd's with my 6mm rifle i cam shoot 1" to 1.5" groupes at 200 using 105grA-MAX in my 700rem

It may be your twist rate but you did say you tried 80 to 100gr bullets. You didn’t say what powder you are using I would stay away from the ball powders and try the IMR powders or even the H series from Hodgdon. I would try 4895,4064 and 3031 I would keep the powders on the faster side. I would weigh the powder charges one a time and not throw them.

I know why all you guys hunting regions 3 and 4 are not seeing or getting deer. It’s not because of too many DMP’s, coyotes or even mountain lions some think the DEC is stocking. Here it is are you ready for this it’s Bigfoot or is it Bigfeet because there’s more than one. I was watching this show called Finding Bigfoot on Animal Planet and the crew was in NY down in the Catskills. They said they hunt and eat deer. There must be a lot of them down there because every sound these people heard in the woods at night was a Bigfoot. I think the DEC is secretly stocking them from Washington state
