I'm Confused
Salmon_Run replied to Salmon_Run's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
VH your still off the mark from my original post, the post had NOTHING to do with who or who isn't qualified, it simply about the statement made over choice. No one should say or make that choice based on anything OTHER THAN QUALLIFICATIONS. One can not and should say they are making a choice based on any factor other than qualifications....bottom line. NO ONE here said there weren't any qualified black woman, not even close! As I am sure there are many. Just to be clear you jumped to the card that we said there were no qualified black woman. I was pointing out the utter hypocrisy of Biden's statement and how is that not racist based upon the societal norms of today? -

But how can Biden say that statement BEFORE HIS SELECTION, let's reverse this and use the Trump model. You brought up Trump so riddle me this: What if Trump had said "I'm filling a USSC position and going to select a white male" ? -

It just boils my blood with the sheer hypocrisy of it all; I hate career politicians. Wish that term limits were on every voted office where you get two terms and out the door. These lifelong career politicians are ridiculous and clearly at some point seem to become self serving in so many ways and open to corruption. Then it becomes a red vs blue showdown where neither side produce a viable solution to get this country straightened and then add the "racism" issue. I believe that racism is present, no doubt, but how do we solve it as an issue? That was my rant for today; I know as an administrator of a large upstate sheriff's Office if I were interviewing candidates for any position I couldn't make the statement or apply the thinking that I chose one over another due to race, color, gender or any other factor other than qualifications due to testing, background and ability... -

VH you missed the point; it's not that a woman WOULDN'T qualify. Not at all disturbing; I am sure there are well suited individuals of all backgrounds, races, nationalities, identities, or whatever that are qualified. I worked for 32 years under civil service rules and tested for advancement; it's a simple rule find the BEST CANDIDATE based on performance and testing... It's about the better or best candidate and the selection should be color and gender blind. The point WAS how can BIDEN say that choosing based upon gender and color is not racist? -

I am truly confused by what is considered "racism" or "systemic racism".... Black Entertainment TV vs. White Entertainment TV Black History Month vs. White History Month Black Achievement Awards vs. White Achievement Awards President Biden stating he going to appoint a black female to USSC vs. someone saying they'll only hire a white male for a given position I grew up judging people by their character, work ethic, honesty, commitment to family and community and their individual behavior.. Is the thinking this far out of whack, am I alone bewildered by this.

I believe it's a 35 gallon tank and wasn't down just under a quarter. I have a heavy V-plow hung out front and maybe get 8-9 mpg this time of year. I am sure my new electric truck with handle the plow nice and haul my dump trailer/backhoe combo.

With Biden and Harris it's pretty predictable when they open their mouths: Biden will stutter and stammer and not take any open questions as he is herded off stage by his handlers. Harris will bray like a donkey, and at some point make the statement "you know what I saying" in hopes someone/anyone will agree with her point of view.

Trump was far more entertaining to watch at a press conference; one had no idea what he was going to utter !!

Darn, you guys replayed to her first; I was hoping to respond quicker; I guess I'll just wait for my daily auto warranty call now to make friends. She sent me a picture but "her" knuckles were bigger than mine and "she" had a big Adam's apple......hmmmmmm.......

I'm 62 years old and I've never considered myself as a political follower and I can't believe how far Trump has imbedded himself into some of these peoples lives and continued thoughts and arguments... He's gone folks !!!!

I like dried fruit like bananas, pineapple, apricots or mango, I get packages of them at the local dollar store and they are just fruit and nothing added...Also could try freeze dried fruit in small packages like blueberries or strawberries. I carry them in my pack while out hunting and they make a quick pick me up or a simple tea with them. Texture may be not the best but they taste good and are healthy.. I also make my own fruit leathers and dry that on a dehydrator at home, simply make in a blender and pour on a sheet and dehydrate and one can combine flavors.

Any tips to get rid of an entrenched flinch habbit?
Salmon_Run replied to ApexerER's topic in General Chit Chat
Practice shouldering the weapon (unloaded) safely, and get very used to handling the gun and properly positioning it to your body. Then try at the range shooting and have a friend mix in "dummy" rounds and concentrate on each shot as to not flinch or close your eyes in anticipation. This conditions you to the act of discharging the weapon and not the physical response of the recoil. Make sure the weapon is properly "seated" on your shoulder and utilize light loads to start and really concentrate on weapon positioning, target acquisition and discharge. Try to keep your concentration on the shot impact and not the recoil... Practice will help greatly...good luck !! -
In any incident there are layers of responsibility and contributing factors to the incident; given when we know there are several people responsible at differing levels, but in my opinion the holder of the weapon holds the last and most critical amount of responsibility..
-
I only wish I could give this a hundred likes on here.....the sole and final responsibility of gun safety should be always the holder of the weapon.

Ponder this, I'll bet he wouldn't take a weapon from an "expert" and then be directed by another to place the muzzle firmly against his skull and pull the trigger. Given his explanations it sounds like he would.
