  1. It's nice that you are able to do the group photo. Good memories ! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  2. Praying for your daughter . Keep us updated .
  3. Some of the guys that posted on this thread could have been Xerox Managers . I say that because when we had something that worked , some manager would want to "fix" it . Personally , I am fine with what we have now and don't see a need to change anything but ...... what suits my needs doesn't necessarily work for others . I like the lengthy Bow Season but don't support Full Inclusion of Crossbows ( even though I bought one this year ) . We have something that works ..... Leave it alone .
  4. I have a Samsung S-5 phone and have the OtterBox Defender case . Works great . I caught the case on my seatbelt and broke the clip on the back . Looked on EBAY where I had purchased the OtterBox case and was able to buy 2 of the parts that that the phone snaps into and clips to the belt for $7 . http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Otterbox-Defender-case-for-Samsung-Galaxy-S5-w-Holster-Belt-clip-Tree-Camo-/182172251624?hash=item2a6a4ff5e8:g:4DAAAOSw1DtXIOOU http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Replacement-Belt-Clip-Holster-for-Samsung-Galaxy-S5-Otterbox-Defender-/351388314353?hash=item51d0602af1:g:T1MAAOSwPgxVQ830
  5. What you will see now won't be the same next October . The deer tend to change their pattern depending on the food sources available to them . Scouting now will be of some help knowing where their bedding areas are ( if you don't already know that ) . As for sheds , that might be a couple months . Wooly would be the best person to know that as he is a dedicated shed hunter .
  6. After the Holidays are over , I plan to start shooting my compound in the basement over the winter months and do some reloading . I still have to go to my sister in laws property in Geneseo and remove a Dog House Blind . I might even remove the hub blind on my raised platform rather than leave it out all year . I will do this when it warms up a bit as I don't want to do it when it is freezing and the material would be brittle . I also need to clean up my den in the basement and sort out a lot of "stuff" . If only I can get my Butt unglued from this chair !
  7. The only time I remove my sling is at the range . I always leave it attached when hunting .
  8. I hope this Topic Post ends before Bow Season open on October 1 , 2017 !
  9. Tire tracks to the side of the road and footprints in the snow to where the carcass was laying . No hide and all the meat was off the bones . I doubt that a Wegman's Shopper left it there .
  10. like Ron White says , " You can't fix stupid " !
  11. More like a squirrel watcher .............
  12. I drove down to my friend's house in Walworth to drop off a Christmas present . Going across Plank Road just East of Monroe ? Wayne County Line road I saw what appeared to be a deer carcass and wondered if the yotes had been feeding off some road kill . On my return trip I pulled over and saw what appeared to be the carcass of a deer that was 5 feet from the road and it had apparently been dumped there . What kind of low life would do that ? Stuff like this makes hunters look bad . Whoever did this could have bagged it up and left it with the garbage for pickup rather than by the side of the road !
  13. When I was younger , I was somewhat selective in taking shots . Now that I am 75 , I take what I can get . Getting that 1st deer of the season takes the pressure off . Taking that 1st bow kill is a confidence builder .
  14. Get a bow that feels good in your hand . There are some great bow manufacturers and all bows don't feel the same . Some have a fat grip and some thin , etc .. No sense in buying a bow that's rated high but doesn't have the right feel .
  15. It's all good when sitting out in the cold pays off ! I was expecting another bummer of a day .
  16. Do you allow them in your basement apartment ? Looks good Senor Uptown .
  17. I am content with the way the seasons are right now .
  18. Sometimes the Bow Shops reduce the price of the bows when the new models come out . Not sure when that happens .
  19. I posted today's outing In Fast Eddie's Fables .... It was a good , no Great day !
  20. Deer season ended well for me . I expected another crappola day of hunting and sat in a blind at my son's property . At about 4 pm I spotted some movement and saw 3 deer slowly approaching . All were doe . I put my NEF Huntsman 50 cal on the shooting sticks and when the big doe turned sideways , I squeezed off a shot . She ran off and I thought , how could I miss at 45-50 yards . Damn ! I reloaded .The other two had moved back but were probably wondering what happened . I put the ML on the sticks again and took another shot as the doe stepped into the opening . She dropped , got up and ran . I waited about 5 minutes and figured I had better check as I had about a half hour before sunset . When I went to where I knew I had hit the 2nd doe I saw blood going off in the direction that the 1st doe ran in . Found the doe about 50 yards from where I hit her and then went to look for the 1st doe . Found her about 80-90 yards from where I had hit her . My son came out to see how I did and said they only heard one shot from the house . He got the ATV and sled and came back to pick up the deer after I had field dressed them . The neighbor came over to see how I had done as Matt asked him if he might be able to have the kids play in the front yard instead of out back just for today and I thanked him for doing so . He is a real nice guy and a retired Sheriff Deputy .
