No idea who he is .... There are 6 of us that have permission . 3 of us hunt bow season . Another guy , his wife and daughter hunt during gun season . I am guessing this is a local .

Saw a large red for while driving on Thornell Rd in Pittsford . Then as I turned onto West Bloomfield there was a buck standing about 20 feet off the side of the road . I was in the stand by 6:30 . Sat back and relaxed . A little after 9 I saw a couple doe go across the back lawn over 300 yards away . Didn't see anything else and left at 11 . Dropped some stuff off at my son's house , got something to eat and went to DICKs in Victor . Bought a few items and went back to the hunting area . Sat in the stand from 2:30 to 6 pm and didn't see any deer . Some guy in an orange tee shirt and blue jeans was walking around . I spotted him 300 yards down the field and he ducked into the wooded area at about 200 yards . I figured he saw me and was avoiding me . Later I saw him throught the trees , vines , etc south of my stand . I thought he was using a grunt call but he was smoking . Smelled like those small cigars , cigarellos , whatever . He came within 35 yards of my location and stood looking into the tall stuff . He never looked up at me or in my direction . Since I hadn't seen anything all afternoon , I kept quiet and hoped that he might kick something out of the thick area . Didn't happen .

Surprised to see this guy out with a crossbow . When I 1st spotted this guy he was about 300 yards away at the end of the field . He came within 200 yards and ducked into the wooded area . I spotted him a few other times and almost called to him as he didn't appear to know I was in the stand . I thought he was smoking an E-Cig until the wind changed and I could smell the stinking Cigarello . Took a few pics .

Sometimes , if I am sitting in a blind, I take my military mummy type sleeping bag with me . I have been able to stay out a lot longer that way . Got a lot of deer while doing this . I would just put it over my shoulders . It really kept the body heat in . My son in law said I should take it with me when I buy a lottery ticket but that didn't work .

Some guy in an orange tee shirt and cross bow came out of the wooded area about 200 yards away from me. He just squatted down along the edge of the field . Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

I will be heading out to my Pittsford - Mendon spot in a few minutes . Trying to be optimistic . Havn't been there in a couple weeks to check anything out but the beans and corn are gone . It's only a 35 mile drive . The only thing I don't like about the spot is the uppity soccer moms blow their horns when they go by when they see me in camo .

My wife gave me a pair if Alpaca socks last Christmas . I will have to give them a try during gun season if I can remember where I put them . They are supposed to be warm .

WalMart has a small device similar to a Tick Key that extracts ticks quite safely for about $4 . DICKs has the Tick Key for $6 or $7 . Either place is cheaper than Amazon .

A rather ridiculous statement . Long Bow and Recurve shooters were taking deer at farther distances yhan 25 yards before compounds came about . Not many shoot the longbow or recurve any more because it is so much more difficult to do than with what is available now .

I have the heated Milwaukee camo jacket . I wear a Blaze Orange vest over it during gun season . The battery doesn't last long so I have 3 of them and they are about $35 each . If you turn on the pocket warmers , that really sucks up some juice . Probably better off buying WOOL clothing and dressing in layers .

On page 29 of the Regs booklet , it says they will be available"on or around Nov 1" .

Break open single shots . My deer rifle is a NEF single shot 25-06 .

Gave Geneseo another try yesterday . Rain was forecasted but I was prepared . Was in my stand in the woods by 6:45 . Sat there until 11:30 . I was facing the thick area where I expected the deer to come into the woods . I was downwind of that area . During that sit I saw 4 anterless and a small buck moving in the thickets but them never came my way . It sprinkled a couple times but only for a few minutes . At 11:30 I headed for my car and went to Geneseo village . Ran a couple errands and went back to the property on Lima Road . Drove my ATV across the field and parked it about 100 yards from the stand I have in a willow tree overlooking a small wooded area with cattails near a pond . Not much was happening . After a while I looked in the direction of my ATV and saw a doe standing within 10 yards of the ATV . She stayed there for over 10 minutes and then headed at an angle toward my position . I stood and faced the tree I was in and the doe passed within 30 yards but I couldn't take a shot as the safety strap on my harness restricted me . I tried to un hook it but couldn't . Another letdown . Left the stand at 6:05 . Saw a red fox on the way out .

The 1st pair of Rocky's I had were the Corn Stalkers . They were comfortable and lasted a long time . I wore them wood chuck hunting and deer hunting and they got a good workout . Most boots / shoes are made overseas and don't last worth a darn . No quality anymore .

Spear Season falls between December 31 and January 1 .........
