  1. Your Majesty , how is it that you can't remember or recall anything but you can without a doubt remember that you did not send out any classified material in your e-mails ?
  2. Don't know who your maintainance person is but we bought a gas stove to replace our wood burning stove from Williamson Hardware . They have been in the business for years . I have never heard anything bad about them . It might pay to get a second opinion . p.s. I have been to your home . You can afford the $1200 .
  3. Where to shoot a deer when bow hunting .... from Deer & Deer Hunting
  4. Yeah , I am hoping opening day will just be a quick morning hunt and I can head home early with a good size deer .
  5. Opening day is generally an all day hunt / sit . Might change stands due to wind change . Hoping I will be physically capable of getting out opening day . This Friday ( the 23rd ) , I am going to have a extracorporeal-shock-wave-lithotripsy procedure to bust up a small kidney stone with shock waves . Apparently the kidney will be bruised and I will have a stent in place . I am hoping that I will be able to draw my bow and endure any discomfort . I had a different procedure done in the early part of the year so I would be fine for bow season . The urologist didn't get all of the damn stone on his 1st try . It's a 50 mile drive to my spot in Geneseo so I try to make it an all day stay .
  6. I was at the Baytowne WalMart a few days ago . It isn't layed out like any of the other super stores and had a time finding things . I couldn't find any archery gear so I asked one of the Associates . He said they don't carry archery equipment because that store is considered a "City Store" . I said the abandoned store which is about 200 yards away carried archery gear so why not this one . I also told him that this new store sells gun ammo and other gun supplies . He didn't know what to say . Didn't make sense that they would sell bullets but not archery equipment . Go figure !
  7. Well , for the great shooters that choose to shoot deer with a 223 , all the more power to you . I don't take head or neck shots and will stick with a gun that will knock the snot out of deer . I use my 223 for woodchucks . This topic comes up every year and gets boring after a while . So , have at it .
  8. I prefer to shoot while sitting and it has nothing to do with fear of heights . If I am already standing in the tree stand I would shoot that way but if I am sitting , I will not stand up to shoot . Less movement is better . I have a stand in the Pittsford-Mendon area that has a wooden rail with burlap camo on it and I have no choice but to stand to shoot . But , I discovered that I have to have my bow out and over the railing to shoot . I have been lucky that I havn't been busted by the deer but the stand is about 18' high and blends in well .
  9. I install and remove Real Estate signs and cover quite a bit of area . I havn't seen any of the fake Christmas trees tossed out in years .
  10. Hildabeast and the media knocked Trump for saying it was a bomb right after the explosion saying it was too soon to tell . Then Hildabeast states it was a bomb . Double standards !
  11. Definitely a backpack . I carry more than I need so I won't lack anything . I don't want my pockets stuffed that will make sitting uncomfortable .
  12. If anyone wants to steal a blind or stand bad enough , they will take it . Even locks aren't going to stop anyone from stealing . What irks me is the low life that tears a stand apart on private property and tosses the parts or takes part of the stand to disable it . .
  13. I just knew that had to be a Typo in the title !
  14. I prefer sitting if I am shooting to my left or straight out in front . If there is a shot to my right , I need to stand so I have clearance for my elbow in order not to bump the tree with my elbow . I have a 10' high tree stand in my back yard that I practice from . I have to stand if shooting 30 yards as I have a cable that goes from a large tree o a post that my bug zapper is on .
  15. Not sure where I will hunt opening day . Did some work yesterday helping my son cut some wood . Checked my cameras . Just like the past couple years , deer that I had been catching on a cam seem to vacate that area 3 weeks before Archery Season . I got pics of deer by a stand that I have in a Lane Way but they are there around 6 am every morning . No way to get there without spooking them . The Lane Way is also the way to get to the woods and my elevated stand by the pond . Fields on either side have soy beans .
  16. Congrats to your grandson . He looks pretty big for a 12 year old .
  17. I have had mixed success using deer decoys . I actually used a MacKenzi doe target to draw some deer in .
  18. I have taken deer with a bow , Winchester 12 ga , Tompson Contender 7-30 waters , NEH 50 cal Huntsman in-line and my NEF 25-06 rifle .
  19. Growie , you had better hope it wanders by rather than wonders by ..... had to do it . I am not sure what stand or even where I will go on opening day .
  20. I have put up almost all of them alone . And , like Chase said , the stands come with ropes that attach to the seat platform and get criss crossed behind the tree and fastened to the ladder before climbing to strap the top section to the tree ( after the support bar is attached ) . There are only two stands where I don't wear a safety harness . One is a 6' high platform stand with a hub blind on top . The other is a permanent stand that has a railing all the way around it .
  21. Why would the Liberals leave their home state to go to NC ? They would lose their Welfare Benefits !
  22. That would make for a Sweet ride !
