The brand is HME . I bought some at Dick's for $9.99 . They are now $12.99 and have been modified . See pics below . The one with the 2 clamps is the newer one .

I have a bow hanger similar to the one pictured above . It comes with 3 brackets so you can leave the bracket on a tree and carry the arm in a backpack . I didn't care for it because the bow would move with a breeze . The ladder stand holders require minimal movement to grab the bow . Tractor Supply carries a smaller version of the ladder hangers that come in a pack of 4 . I might give that a try at one of the stands but need to paint it as they are shiny . Good idea and they are inexpensive .

I like to use a bow holder when in a tree stand . With my short legs , it's hard to sit with a bow across my legs . I always liked the holder that clamps to the ladder stand rail but hate to put them on and remove them after each hunt . I made the error of buying the ones that bolt to a stand platform and figured I had made a big mistake . So when I went out Wednesday I took some longer bolts and attached the holder on the rail of the ladder stand . It worked great and had the bow about 1 1/2" farther away from the rail than the ones designed for the rails . I will do the same thing with the other bow holders that I have . Glad I didn't return them to Dicks !

Bought a replacement camera today . It's a Canon Powershot SX130 . The same as the one that crapped out on me . It has a good zoom , takes good pics and runs on 2 AA batteries . I don't care for the ones that require special batteries . I always like to take a camera with me when I hunt , etc .. There goes the Social Security money ...........

Wednesday I was back in a stand in Geneseo by 6:10 am . Sat there until 11 and never saw a thing . I was in a different stand than the one I used Monday . Shed some clothes and walked down to the woods to check things out . Saw where a tree had dropped on my old pressure treated stand . It's the 2nd time that has happened in the past couple years . My canon camera crapped out on me so I took a pic with the phone . Walked back to the car , got something to eat & drink and sacked out for an hour . Spent 3 1/2 hours in another stand and never saw anything . I could see over 600 yards across the bean field and pasture lots . No wind . The leaves weren't moving one bit . Around 3 oclock my SIL called to tell me that there were 2 doe and a turkey in the pasture behind her house . I told her that I was almost 1/4 mile away . So , I wonder if the deer in the area weren't moving due to the heat or the lack of and breeze . There's always another day .

I spent a total of 8 hours between 2 different stands opening day in Geneseo . Saw a buck and a doe at 7:30 . The buck milled around in the lower pasture lot for 15 minutes but never came to the pasture I was in . Left around 4 pm . I had to work Tuesday and needed to get my assignments plus I had to pick my wife up at the airport . Couldn't afford to be late on either plus my back was killing me . I left my ATV and trailer at my sister in law's to save on gas . Hauling it really cuts down my mileage .

I think I will start carrying when I gun hunt ...........

Let your friend try his luck on the "Archery Talk" site and see how long he lasts there ...... or has he already been kicked of that site ! Many of us disagree on a lot of topics and voice our opinions but we don't condone what Peterbfly brings to the table . As far as I am concerned he is gone but I don't have the final say in the matter .

I havn't seen much of anything so far . I am trying to decide where to hunt Saturday . I am guessing that with more hunters out there , the deer might be moving around .

When I walked down to to woods around 11 am I had an arrow nocked . And of course I wouldn't do this in the dark > If it was dark , it wouldn't be legal shooting time anyway .

Heading for Geneseo in a few minutes . Rain forecasted for 6 am and 10 am . I hope it doesn't rain or doesn't rain hard . Going to use a different stand than the one I used Monday .

That doe would be in the freezer !

People will wait in line a day or two early to buy the newest i-phone , and buy tickets months in advance for a Concert etc but wait until the last minute to take a Hunter Safety course ............. You are not alone Devildog . Many folks wait too long .

Nice going on getting some deer . I saw 2 deer early at a distacce in another lot . That was all I saw all day long . Did some walking / stalking late am but saw zilch .

I have made the mistake of expecting a deer to drop its body to spring away only to have them not react and do the expected . They don't always follow the deer rules !

I went to a wedding in Perry today and then to the reception in Henrietta . Checked the mail and I had a letter from the DEC with their sighting log enclosed . It's different from past years and now you put in the date instead of it being already on the form .

I use the Lee hand primer . It comes with 2 different size discs for large and small primers . Make sure you have shell holders for the caliber you are reloading . As for the digital scale , I buy a pack of 8 batteries for $1 at the dollar store and they work fine .
