I never had any luck with trying to burn out ground bees . I bought the bee bombs at Country Max and they knock the snot out of bees nests . You use them at night when all the bees are in the hole .

I used to leave the woods when it started to sprinkle so I wouldn't get caught in the rain . As I left , I would see deer out feeding in the fields . Now I will sit in the rain unless it turns into a downpour or lightning strikes . A high of 61 is forecasted for today ..........

Yeah , and what about the accessories on the bow ............. Is the sight tight ? Has it slipped . Are the pins all there ? Has the string stretched ? Is the peep rotation okay ? Is the string frayed ? Are the broadheads sharp ? Are they tight on the shaft ? Are the arrows going to hit the same as the previous year ? There are many many more items to think about ! Personally , I shoot my bow in the basement in the winter to make sure the muscles I use drawing the bow are in reasonable shape . It would be difficult to not shoot for a year and then have to draw on a deer . -

---- I don't have a problem shooting does and if that's the 1st deer that comes within bow range , i'll take that shot . I know hunters have tresspassed on the property I hunt in the past . I might just hunt the deeper woods to see if the kids are taught to do the same thing . -
What do you store your gear in?

I use totes and place an Earth Scent wafer in them . I like the ones with the lock tabs , etc that keeps the lid from popping loose -

I shot 2 dozen arrows from the backyard treestand . Too lazy to shoot single arrows so I messed up some fletching . Pretty much set for 25 and 15 yard shots . I have to stand to shoot at my 30 yard target as I have a cable in the way otherwise . Bills 35 --- Chiefs 17 but the game wasn't actually close . The Bills were pathetic last week .
-
Buffalo is only 25 points ahead in the 3rd quarter . They still have time to pee the game away . Hopefully , the game will be over at 4 pm and I can get busy with the bow .
-
Waiting until after the Bills / Chief's game to shoot the bow from the backyard treestand . I have a 3-D set up at 25 yards and another target set up at 15 yards . Too often I don't shoot the short 15 yard distance .

I was removing a Real Estate sign from a vacant lot by Canandaigua yesterday afternoon . My boss had installed in it March and piled some rocks on the swing arm so the post wouldn't blow around in the wind . As I was removing the stones , I thought Oh Crap as there was a nest of ground bees . I pulled my hand back but not quick enough and got stung . One of those little ba$tards stung me just above where the thumb joins the hand . I went to Wegman's to get something to numb the pain with no luck but was able to get some "Sting Eze" at Rite Aide . I took some Antihistamine last night but the back of my hand is still swollen . I hate bees !!! ... ... When I washed my hands at Wegman's I had a laugh . On the mirror over the sinks there was a notice ..... "Warning , water may be Hot" . Well duh , no fooling but I guess they have to do that for the dumb butts that might not realize this possibility .

Print their names and put their pictures in the paper like they do in the Wayne Times . Maybe some embarassment will help !

There are counties where you cannot shoot them .

This is what I found DEC Announces Details for Columbus Day Weekend Youth Deer Hunt By WBNG News September 14, 2012 Updated Sep 14, 2012 at 5:51 PM EDT (WBNG Binghamton) The New York Department of Environmental Conservation has confirmed that junior hunters ages 14-15 will be able to hunt deer during a special youth firearms deer season over Columbus Day Weekend this year, October 6 through October 8, 2012. According to a news release: WBNG E-News - Sign Up For Our Newsletter! "Implementation of this youth deer hunt is a hallmark moment for New York hunters and represents continued efforts of DEC to engage more young people in nature and outdoor recreation," said DEC Commissioner Joe Martens. The youth deer hunt will take place Columbus Day weekend in both the Northern Zone and Southern Zone; a youth hunt was not established on Long Island due to restrictions in the Environmental Conservation Law. Junior hunters (ages 14-15) with a big game hunting license will be eligible to take one deer of either sex with a firearm when properly accompanied by a licensed and experienced adult. Junior hunters may use a Deer Management Permit or Deer Management Assistance Program tag for an antlerless deer or, during the youth firearms season only, they may use their regular season tag to take a deer of either sex. In areas restricted to bowhunting only (Westchester County and parts of Albany and Monroe counties), junior hunters may only use bowhunting equipment to take deer during the youth hunt weekend. "Bowhunting seasons remain open during the youth hunt, but I encourage bowhunters to set your bow aside for the weekend and be a mentor for a youth's first firearms deer hunt," Commissioner Martens stated. While there is pending legislation that may impact future youth hunts, until it has been acted on, DEC's regulations remain in effect. More details of the Youth Firearms Deer Hunt and rules for junior hunters and their mentors are available at www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/46245.html. DEC also offers special opportunities for junior hunters (ages 12-15) for waterfowl, wild turkey, and pheasants. See www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/52495.html for information about these other programs. -
