I hear ya! I haven't shot any where's enough this year and I can feel it. I got home last night too late to attend the Academy so i flung a couple at home just b4 dark. My strength is not any where close to what it should be. I need to shoot every day from now to 10-1. I don't see that happening as I leave for Baltimore tomorrow! It will be a week b4 I touch my bow again. Not to mention that i need to put out some cameras and start getting some stands put up! WTF, where has the summer gone?

I've missed the academy for the last couple of weeks, so I just shot in my backyard, 20 yds. Gotta at least go through the motions! Shoot quick and put it away before the APD show up! Lol! Not legal in this town!

Grampy, would these be the boards you were thinking about? I've made several sets, all were donations. I don't think I would make much selling them as they take too long to make and you can buy them for around$150 a set.

This blind is starting to look like the 1st one I built. I guess I only know 1 camo pattern! Lol

I had a couple of lbs of breakfast sausage so I threw together a breakfast casserole and stuffed some banana peppers. It's a little warm to be in the house with the oven on but I had to get it done. Now, do I make some coffee and have some of the casserole or open a beer and have some peppers? Decisions, decisions?

Good Luck Tom! You deserve this trip. Are you taking the dogs with? An elk hunt out west is on my bucket list too, at 67 it's starting to look dim. How long are you practicing your shots? I heard it's nothing to shoot 70yds at an elk.

No, they are black. Not a big deal as i usually keep my binos inside of my jacket while hunting.

I have a new with tags NWTF garment bag. $20 plus shipping. Shipping will probably be around$10? Local pickup preferred. I'm in Amherst/ Williamsville.

We'll Nikon came through. I received my replacement binos today. They seem like nice clear lenses. A little bit larger then what I had but I'm sure they will be fine.

I went with a 4/12 pitch so I'll just use felt paper and shingles. i will shingle it once it's up and in place. I made the roof in 2 sections so I can take it apart to move it into place and re-assemble it in the field.

Finished nailing down the roof sheathing, and finished the wall sheathing. Now I can start the door and start painting it. Will have to wait till next weekend though as the wife and I are going to Pa camping for a few days. Man it's nice being retired! Just another Saturday!

After running errands all day I finally got back to working on the blind but then had a rain delay! I got the roof framed and sheathing on when the sh@t hit the fan.

Started a second box blind. Last one was 4 x 6, this one is going to be 6 x 6. And I'm making the windows a little smaller. This will hold 2 hunters very comfortably.

Well it took a while but Nikon emailed me yesterday with the bad news. My binos are not repairable and they are giving me a voucher for their store for $279 because they don't make the 10x36 binos any more. So today I ordered a pair of Monarch 5 in 10x42 ended costing me $35 with what they cost over the voucher and tax+ shipping. I'm thinking they look like good binos and close to what I had, but when I placed the order I got an email that said they are backordered and I will get an email when they are available! SOB Hunting season is getting close, I hope they deliver soon!
