  1. Moog, my daughter needs a stove. She's in Baltimore but i will deliver. Let me check with her and I'll get back to you asap.
  2. Being able to take a shower after crawling around in a mouse infested crawl space for 8 hours is an absolute must!! I never felt so dirty, and I've worked in a lot of disgusting homes over the years!
  3. Pallet racking? That will be interesting, I'll definitely need to see pics when it's done! As for using standard framing wood, if you side or sheath over the 2x's it wont be exposed to the weather. I don't see it rotting? Standard house framing 101. Rodent abuse, that's a hole different animal! (pun intended)
  4. Are you going to be elevating the blind, as on 4x4 's? I used normal framing lumber on the floor of the blind i built because i built the walls with the sheathing overlapping the side of the floor. That way the rain will pass by the deck and shouldn't be getting it too wet. I also painted the exterior and plan to touch it up "as needed"
  5. Went down to Birdsall yesterday to finish up the plumbing. What a dummy i am! Got all the way there and realized I forgot to bring the pex crimper! We were able to rent 1 from the hardware store in Belmont, thank God! So we finished all the water lines and fixed the previous leaks. Added a couple of drains to the system in the lowest areas, and wired the HW tank. Primed the system and turned on the power to the tank and pump. Everything works great , we were able to wash dishes at the kitchen sink, after I fixed another leak, and take a couple of well deserved showers! Couldn't be happier! Thanks for all the previous advice, I took everything into consideration and came up with a system that functions perfectly. We'll see this winter if my drains work properly and we don't have any burst pipes or fittings? I'll take some pics soon as we worked late again.
  6. Happy Birthday Sir!! Have a great day!
  7. Happy Birthday LET EM GROW! Enjoy your day!
  8. Nice pics, I think you have to put video on youtube and then you can post the link?
  9. I picked up some sausage from Niagara County Produce yesterday that I've never seen there before. it was called Fiesta Sausage. They said it had pepper jack cheese and pineapple in it. I threw a couple links on the grill last night and it was awesome! Nice kick from the cheese and I liked the pineapple. Now the search is on to find a recipe so I can try to make it with venison. Has anyone ever made anything like it? I believe the base recipe would be a mild Italian sausage?
  10. Happy Fathers Day to all you Mothers!!! Hope you all have a great day!
  11. It's been a while but i got back down to Birdsall yesterday and worked on the water system. It was real long day but we managed to get the bathtub, sink in the bathroom and the toilet all connected to the rain barrel system. We used a plug in 110 volt inline water pump (4.5 gpm) and a 20 gal electric hot water tank. Worked out really good even though the existing fixtures haven't seen water through them in 15 years. Only a few leaks in the supply lines. I'll fix them next trip. Still need to complete the lies to the kitchen sink but I ran out of time and pex pipe. And I need to add a 20 amp breaker and run a dedicated line to the HW tank. It's going to be awesome to have hot water and be able to take a shower at camp. Now we will have to keep an eye on the water reserve as I noticed there wasn't a lot in the tank even though I believe we had significant rain. It's possible that the heavy rain storms are going right over the gutter? I never took any pics as we literally worked to after dark. I'll try to get some pics next trip.
  12. Happy Birthday Boys!! I was just thinking where's TF? he usually posts the birthday wishes hours before I even see them!! Hope you all have a great day! @moog5050 @Fletch @Arcade Hunter
  13. I can help, just need to co ordinate a time. Call me and we can discuss what you need and get a material list.
  14. Great job Wooly! Love your posts, you are in inspiration! Keep up the good work.
  15. We went back out yesterday and finished the stairs, added a railing, and sone of the miscellaneous trim pieces. Still need to beef up the railings, but I ran out of 3" screws! The pic looks like my phone has a fisheye lense? The sides of the blind are not curved!
  16. Did you use the metal brackets for attaching the 4x4 posts? I used them on the blind we just put up but after seeing how much i had to brace the 4x4s I'm starting to think they are a waste of money. $70 for a set of 4. I think I could easily bolt the 4x4 to the deck frame and with the same amount of braces it will be just as solid.
  17. 3 guys, the youngest is 58 and one guy is 74!
  18. Time to make another batch of pepper sticks. They go way too fast!
  19. Well it was a long day but it is up and in place. Still need to do some tweaking, I need to add black out curtains, a couple more diagonal braces, and trim the shooting lanes. It's in great location between 2 food plots and several apple trees nearby.
  20. Congratulations Young Moog!! Nice pics, I hope you and the misses are doing well and certainly proud of your son!
  21. Happy Birthday Bob! Hope you have a great day!
  22. Not sure how quick one could open the window? Because of the size of the window, I used a cord on each side. So it takes a second to latch one side while holding the window open , then latch the opposite side. Plus all that movement would probably spook the deer. I plan on opening up the windows as soon as i enter the blind. I'll probable not open the window on the wind side for warmth. This is my first attempt at building a blind, so we figure to get this 1 set up in the field and practice shooting at least the bow out of it at various spots, critique it and make adjustments on the next blind. I was planning on building 2 blinds for the property from the get go.
  23. I painted the hinge as it was shiny. I used rope and hooks to secure the window in open position. Added some foam weatherstips so the window doesn't rattle. And a small bungie cord to secure it in the closed position.
  24. Maybe I should have started with a darker color, it is what it is. Now to start cutting the plexiglas for windows.
