  1. I to am glad the misses doesn't frequent this site! She has mentioned that she believes it's time to paint the liv rm and dining rooms. Last time we/I painted it, it got painted 3x! Someone kept changing her mind as to what color it should be. I honestly can not do that again. Larry, glad to see that paper coming down. Get er done!
  2. I'm gonna follow this thread as i'm probably going to build a couple of these this summer. There are lots of options and points of view to consider. Height, size, window locations, etc. I would like to make it in panels that can be pulled apart. That way i can build it at home, pull it apart, stack it on a trailer and re assemble in the woods. Setting the platform will probable be a challenge? Also, I would like to make window openings that will work for archery, I assume that archery windows will also work good for gun? Probably just have to add a removable shooting rail inside the window for a gun rest. Looking forward to getting started on this project.
  3. Larry, if it's not to late, I have some traditional arrows in my garage that you can add to the sale. You gave me those arrows years ago and they've been on the shelf ever since!
  4. I've used a fanny pack for years but it's not large enough for every thing i want to carry with me. I do like the fact that it has 6 zippered pockets as i like to keep things organized. Makes it easier to find things quickly. But it's limited for space. I've been thinking of getting a backpack, just not sure what I want. The_Real_TCIII gear leech sounds like a great option. Not to big, and I like how it can be strapped to the tree. I also like having a water bottle easily accessed on the outside of the pack. My biggest fear is having to find something on the bottom of a large pack in the dark. I'll follow this thread to see what you all are using and weigh the pros and cons.
  5. Nice pics Lawd, next thing you know you'll have a hen turkey nesting in your back yard! You are the Birdwhisperer!
  6. I pinned them to a piece of plywood, wedged up against the wall on my work bench, and put a nail at the top to hold them in place. You need to do this while the feet are still flexible. You can also position them the way you want and use string to tie them in position. Then let them dry. I don't know how long as I usually forget about them for months! But when the are dry they will stay in that position. https://www.realtree.com/turkey-hunting/articles/5-diy-turkey-taxidermy-projects
  7. Here's the update on the Yahtzee dice. For those who have played the game you'll know there should only be 5 dice. I made a spare. Just in case!
  8. I've been multi tasking, I was working on this at the same time as the dice. This is from my buddies first ever turkey hunt. I called this bird in opening morning last may. I hope this covid-19 crap is over by 5/1.
  9. Happy Birthday Philoshop! Where ever you are?
  10. I've never seen a mini smoker? looks like a crock pot? I'll have to google this! I'm trying chicken wings today, I've always wanted to try to duplicate the Dinosaur wings!!
  11. Iv'e been working with wood in some way since I was 22! Knock on wood, I still have all the digits!
  12. I've never done any wood turning. I wouldn't mind trying it but right now there isn't any room in my shop for a lathe. Looks like a cool bowl! I assume it's going to be a bowl?
  13. Still keeping busy. Can you guess what I'm making now? I used a piece of black walnut that I had from the table top I helped Tacks make to use. It's going to be a backyard Yatzee game! I'll paint the dots white, should look cool!
  14. A friend asked me to make a table for his wife so I threw this together. Shee wanted it a specific height and size. Now the dilemma as most everything I build is a donation, I have no idea how much I should charge? There's probably $100 in wood, and over 10 hours in labor.
  15. Thanks Larry for the donation. I will probably try making some kielbasa with it. Don't expect to see any pics of my kielbasa while I'm wearing a bathrobe!
  16. Happy Birthday Jason!! Enjoy your day!
  17. I pulled a couple of cards yesterday, several bucks still carrying. Looks like stickers buck dropped his horns, I got him on 3/5 with out horns. I know it's him as I got him on video and he has a distinct walk because he has a broken front leg from 3 years ago! I walked all over for 2 hours and didn't find any sheds. Damn, I would love to find his rack!
  18. No, I haven't heard of Inferno? I agree Fireball is a little sweet, I do like Jack Fire! I just googled Inferno and I might have to look up that distillery when I'm in the Finger lakes this summer! Thanks!
  19. Not near me, I believe that was 8N? I'm in 9F.
  20. I won a basket of booze at my Thursday night hockey party! Other than the little bottles of Fireball, I probably won't be drinking most of this?
  21. Sorry to hear this. Things come in 3's. Last night my daughter called, a teacher friend had to put her dog down over the weekend, then her ex boyfriend called to let her know that his dog is very sick and he will be put down today. She was really upset as I believe she liked the dog more than the boyfriend!
