    My wife earned her license last year and I was hoping to sit her in my ladder stand this year and I would drive to her , then she hears about accidents falling out of stands and now its no go ! I've offered to strap her in but she does'nt want to hear it !

    Welcome Thor ... Check out Ravena Coeymans Sportsmans Club > http://rcsportsmensclub.org/ < .... They have (I believe) 80 or so acres (WMU 4B/4S ) to hunt for members and is a short 20 minutes south of Albany !

    Definately Pre Paid .... If you look at an AARP website they may have (or they used too) a phone specific to your needs with a large numbered phone ! I'm not quite 70+ yet but getting there (or hope too anyhow) !

    Nothing like being in the woods before sunrise and seeing the woods "Wake Up" ! I've taken most of my Deer before 9 am .

    Years ago climbing down from one of the built-in tree stands I get to ground level and turn around and 5 feet away a Spike is staring at me then runs off !

    Last Year before the gun season (south) opened I had extra DMP's and was looking to swap ! I knew somewhere there had to be a place on the net to swap DMP's , I found this website ! I signed up and even though I was just looking to swap DMP's I found the site to be very informative and alot of good people here ! Glad to be here !

    Doc ... Good Point ... advice well taken ! I loved archery way back when I was in the scouts (non hunting) now just to bring back that feeling and include it in the hunting aspect !

    I am not a Bow Hunter ... That being said I have decided to give it a try this year , I took out the Compound Bow I bought a few years ago which I never used and tried my hand at taking a few shots last evening at a cardboard box in the backyard . Needless to say I need practice ... lots of practice ! I took the course a few years ago with my son and already have the bow tag so I'm good to go there . I just wanted to spend more time in the woods !
