I've never planted a food plot but I do own a few acres and will most likely plant one in time for next season . As far as the "Legality" of a food plot I believe its entirely up to the owner (Tax Payer) of the property to determine . Just my opinion ..

Often time I have gotten into my tree stand (30 ft. up) way before sunrise and the deer come through about 7-7:30 and thet suddenly stop , they all come to a halt and just start looking for whatever ... I dont smoke til after I've gotten one and I don't give them any reason to start looking but they do for some reason .... always had me curious as to why !

At the beginning of the season I give them a pass , but towards the end of the season and no meat in the freezer .. nite nite Mom !

The Capital District - Albany is a good place to find State / Federal jobs https://www.usajobs.gov/ or http://www.armycivilianservice.com/ using your Veterans credits , there are numerous Hospitals - all hiring St. Peters http://www.sphcs.org/ Albany Medical Center http://www.amc.edu/ and a bunch of colleges ... all hiring ! You wouldnt want to live in the city (sorry city dwellers) live outside the city , I do - 15 minutes away and I have deer in my backyard and can hunt here also . I escaped NYC in the early 80's and never looked back ! Can Do Brother !

Hey and Welcome ! I hunt 4H also and 4B .... so far I've been able to aquire 3 -4B- Doe permit but 4H is a killer to get one ! I dont bow hunt but 4J is just up the road if I did ! Good luck out there !
