  1. Crazy weather coming this weekend. Heading up to camp tomorrow and thier calling for a low of 8F by me. Thats insane, time to break out the heavy gear.
  2. How the hell do you manage to hunt upside down? New treestand i dont know about?
  3. His Muff is not tuff enough. Get in a treestand Biz, you already took the leap into the world of Mathews, now get yourself a nice ladder stand. You will then be a complete archer.
  4. Good luck grow, dont be suprised if he pulls a full circle and starts heading back the direction he came from before you shot him.
  5. I have been hunting with compounds for many years and killed loads of deer. Wanted something different (transaltion, wanted a new toy). To me they are fun to shoot and liked the idea of a different implement to kill deer. I have to be honest, they are heavy to carry and awkward to hold but are deadly accurate out to 50 yards (atleast mine is).
  6. Thats awesome Moog and that is how all hunters should perceive hunting. I myself have been blessed with taking quite a few mature bucks. But like you, when i need meat or have any itchy finger, i will never make any excuses for shooting a young deer. I like you try not to loose perspective as to why i hunt. For me upmost, its about family, memories, enjoying nature and i really enjoy vension. Thank you bud for keeping it real. I commend you because most wont admit what you did, some feel its beneath them if they did.
  7. Yep, i see coyotes, doe, raccoons etc... in my scrapes. Most animals are curious by nature and will take a sniff. Dogs in general love to roll around to leave their scemt.
  8. I have to agree, one nut dropped a little to far.
  9. On couch sipping some coffee, off soon to sons final basebal game for the year.
  10. I have 41 acres, but its the right 41 acres. Has everything one would want for hunting i.e..water (stream runs year round), food plots, apple trees, hard mast, pine trees, flat land, hillsides, ridges, deep ditches, sanctuary etc...the key is to get the right property, not necessarily the largest property. Id rather have the right 40 acres as opposed to a mediocre 400 acres.
  11. On his hindquarters looks like part of his stomach or something is hanging out? He looks sickly.
  12. Lucky bastard...lol...have fun and kill a big one!!!!
  13. And lets not forget Moogs mere size, that should be an offense in itself. A deer looking up in a tree and see him there would die of a heart attack. Lol...im being silly now, its been a long day...i sure do wish i was up in a tree instead of this damn train.
  14. Now that would be nasty, but hey desperate times call for desperate measures. Go for it!!!
  15. That sucks but sure beats sitting in my office.
  16. I work in Mgt. for a major medical/pension union in NYC. Get free medical and dental , pension and 401k, close to 50 paid days off a year, off on the weekends, their flexible if i need to leave early on any given day as long as i make up the time ( which comes in very handy to get to my kids games during the week). With any office job you get the office politics you have to contend with, but its not bad. As others have mentioned, you spend more time at work then you do with your family, so get into something you will like.
