  1. Ill be out the following week, good luck!!! Im taking this weekend off to watch one of my boys finish off his last fall travel baseball game.
  2. If that ravine feeds into those fields, i would setup on a high point that leads into that field.
  3. I shoot mine a couple times a year, then before the opener just to check its zeroed in. Outside of that we shoot 22's, 22 hornet throughout the year.
  4. The word "mature" can be used however when people try to use horns alone to determine maturity, it does not work. In my area (central NY), i can use horns as a base to determine maturity because i have hunted this area for many moons, along with that you need to look at body characteristics. In my area, you shoot a 3 1/2 year old deer, your doing good (body size and horns on a 3 1/2 yr.old are substantially larger then the typical 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 yr.olds).
  5. Aint that the truth. Now that i think about it, thats pretty much the reason for my existence...lol
  6. What are we suppose to see other then that house and blow up halloween thingy?
  7. Thanks anyways, leftys are great for baseball but not so much to find a youth bow....lol
  8. Is it a righty or lefty, both my boys 9 and 13 are both leftys and already shoot entry level recurves. Would like to step up the 13 year old to a real bow. Let me know. A great deed, will make some kid very happy. That's an awesome gesture.
  9. Congrats, forget the arrow wheres pic. of the doe.
  10. Good luck boys and have fun!!!
  11. Most of my mature bucks were shot in just about miserable conditions. Shot a 10 after sitting in rain all day, shot a 9 three years ago in late ML season with over foot of snow on ground and was snowing when i shot him, shot a couple 8's and a absolute pig of a 6 pointer during snow storms, there are others but you get the idea. I have shot deer on sunny days but mostly does and young bucks..Takes alot to get a mature buck on his feet during daylight and it usually revolves around 2 things, food and the ladies.
  12. Thats pretty awesome, not many people get a chance to witness that.
  13. If shes ripe, theres no stopping them. So your friend actually witnessed the doe standing for those bucks or was she just being bumped?
  14. Grilled Mahi Mahi with an avacado salsa.....traded a friend some venison and venison sausage for some Mahi Mahi and tuna. Great deal, this mahi mahi is so delicious and fresh..yum!!!
  15. Welcome Gena, glad you joined!!! Best of luck this season.
  16. These guys seem to be taking advantage of your families kindness and to me sounds like a whole lack of respect for you and your land. You have the proof in those pics and what your grandfather saw, if he denies it, let him know you have proof and deny him all rights.
  17. Ok so i guess we should close this thread. Shut it down mods. Thought forum was for entertainment , information and debate.
  18. And if they are like my grandparents and parents and were right off the boat, gravy is not even part of their vocabulary. And if they spoke italian like my grandparents did and my parents do, the term used would be salsa.
  19. Gravy to me always meant that brown stuff you might put on steak or mashed potatoes. Just never heard that term used to reference a sauce.
  20. Oh man, that does not look safe at all.
  21. Im first generation italian american and gravy was never part of my or my families vocabulary when it came to sauce/ragu, guess your not hanging out with the real italians. Plain and simple a sauce or ragu is not gravy. Call it what you want. Now get back to hunting...lol..
  22. Cooked all day with meat would be called a ragu, my family is as italiam as it gets. Never called a sauce a gravy, especially a sunday Ragu.
  23. Shes the real deal. Theres nothing like a good ole fashioned italian homemade sauce..yum
  24. OMG, dont let my parents hear you say that...lol...sauce from a jar, NEVER. Us Sicilians would rather starve.
  25. My parents boil thier jars to seal and have never had an issue with low acidic sauce. Not sure for the pressure cooker, never used one to seal jars.
