I don't keep mine in my wallet, I keep it a license holder and attach to my harness so I never forget it and it is in great shape.

Thats the doe you need to take out, move your stand around until you can get a shot at her. She needs to go!

I'm sure you killed that deer, it's not always easy to find one, experience helps. Don't give up, keep looking, you should find it .

Got my Elite shooting 3" groups @ 40yrds with Muzzy 100 tipped Black Eagle Rampage. I'm all set to hunt for 3 days in Sullivan County all by myself, I have not been to this spot in 16 years since getting married then having kids. Been hunting NJ since and although shooting unlimited antleress has been fun I miss NY hunting. I used to camp out and hunt for the complete experience, shot my first deer gun, my first deer archery and my first buck. I found a B&B to stay at and all I need is no rain weather and to see a buck within 40 yards. WIsh me luck.

I shot Thunderheads for many, many years, both 125's and 100's. Very reliable heads, tough, sharp out of the box, and leave great bloodtrails when put in the right spot. That said I got a great deal on Muzzy 100 and started shooting them with my 65lb Elite, I have to say they fly well, I mean real well, seem to be be as strong as my trusted Thunderheads but have yet to shoot a deer with them.

Maybe you should go see a doctor about it? Sounds like a horrible thing to have if you like stand hunting, you can try sitting in a blind till it get's better.

Butcher needed Sullivan County, near Eldred?
nycredneck replied to nycredneck's topic in Deer Processing
Thanks burmjohn, I called the number in the post and George is ten miles from Eldred. Now lets hope I connect. -
Nice going Dan, enjoy your venison knowing you at least have meat in the freezer. I can't imagine eating tag soup 3 years running.

Anything close, how about near Port Jervis? -
I've been to Nantucket and it is loaded with deer. There once was a man from Nantucket….

Thats too bad, try to save money but sometimes you get what you pay for. I got the heavy weight, it cost more but I have it and it will last.
-
Polypropylene first followed by heavy weight ( not mid-weight ) Minus 33 Merino wool.

Was looking todo some hunting up that way, may as well ask now before I need it.

i try to rake the trail to my stands, it stays remarkably clear for a long time.

3K in one more week.

I dont split the hams, meat gets dried out and therefore becomes wasted. I do however split the sternum, did not think there was meat wasted there.
-
Gee, it's so much easier now

Yep, did myself for years as did everyone else back in the day. I remember Troopers pulling cars over on the NYS Thruway that had deer on them to check the tags to see if them city slickers in NYC were doing it all legal, dumb city slickers… oh wait… I meant … uhhh…. nevermind!

Steve is a great no nonsense kind of guy, his video's are the same. Not a lot of HYPE or BS like some other celebs, I like his style.

What order do you follow for correct shot/angle from tree stand?
nycredneck replied to regulat0r's topic in Bow Hunting
Draw level then bend at the waist, been working like a charm for 20 years. -
I know for a fact that cops hunt places NOBODY is allowed to hunt but yet they do it. Who is gonna bust them… another cop? Ha Ha HA HA. It's total BS!

NY #1 in worst state to deer hunt in
nycredneck replied to HectorBuckBuster's topic in General Chit Chat
The guy who wrote it looks like he's about10 years old. I hunt NJ which is 2nd worst on the list. Gee whizz, I know NY & NJ are not Kansas or Ohio but I still shoot my four or five deer a year and keep my freezer filled all year long. -
Yeah,1 and 2 antler are similar, could very be same,be nice to see him up close… with a bow in my hand.
-
Nice shot, way to get it done.

I think all four are different and heres why, Pic 1 This deer's rack is tall and tight, none of the others are. Pic 2, Look at the brow tines in this pic Pic 3, The brow tines are much larger, but they already stopped growing before pic #2. Pic 4, This deer has a sagging belly, an obvious sign of a mature, older deer, which is not the case with #1, #2 or #3 How'd I do,better? I got a little sleep, not much, just a little.LOL
