  1. Right now I'm in love with Sam Adams Rebel Rouser double IPA. One of my all time favs is caged alpha monkey, or saranac.

  3. Tell your buddy he's nuts, .308 is more than enough gun for deer. I'd use that and buy a 150 grain (or higher) bullet for deer. If you you want a new deer gun, can't go wrong with the 30-06.
  4. I prefer to hunt from a stand. 90% of my stands are hang on, easy to conceal and can get up to 20' if needed.
  5. If I needed a muzzleloader I'd buy this in a heart beat. Great gun, good price too. If your shotgun purchase falls through, I've got 2 slug guns for sale.
  6. All this lighted nock talk got me motivated tonight...here are some Lumenoks at dark at 60 yards. First video I'm hoping loads as slo-mo, and second video is normal speed. https://vimeo.com/137200220https://vimeo.com/137200449
  7. Why are its eyes glowing? Big buck, if its real...
  8. I've shot both. Never had any issues with the Nocturnals but didn't like how they turned off. Bought Lumenoks and am happy with them. Can replace the batteries in Lumenoks as well so that's a nice feature. I don't think either one clearly outperforms the other, both were bright, didn't change arrow flight, and are similar in price.
  9. Nice pics. First buck looks like a good one
  10. What are you looking to spend for a lease?
  11. I know someone needs a sweet shotgun...$600 or BO
  12. Brand new in box Mossberg 12 gauge Turkey Thugs shotgun. Shoots 2 3/4" to 3 1/2" shells, 20" barrel with accu choke, fully camoflauged, scope mount, sling, and lock. Asking $500 or BO.
  13. Remington 7400 carbine 30-06, and my bolt action Savage 30-06 as a back up.
  14. I shoot from the roof of my carport most of the time. It is pretty flat and gives me enough elevation with the lay of my yard. I'll get a photo...
  15. One reason why I don't shoot them...that could have been awful!
  16. Your wife moves your targets for you? I know if my wife moves mine she lays them down or puts them sideways. Lucky man...
  17. Purchase a hard case and keep it in there. Cheap, expensive, doesn't matter, just get one. Put some of those free silica gel packets that come with just about everything purchased inside your case. If possible, keep the case inside your house where the temperature change is minimal. Wax your string.
  18. Didn't happen to me, but following a morning hunt several years ago a member or our club unloaded his gun (Remington 7600) and set it on the tonneau cover on his truck. It was a nice day out and since we planned on doing a push shortly he left it there and went into camp. Well needless to say he forgot about it and hopped in his truck to head up the road to get on watch. Gun ended up falling off the truck, denting the scope, and scraping the stock and barrel. It wasn't much of a looker to begin with but had some good glass on it. Everyone felt bad and we offered to purchase a replacement stock but he denied. Now the entire gun is spray painted multiple camo colors with a $50 bushnell on it.
  19. Owning a farm, I know most farmers have a good amount of liability coverage for the seasonal helpers, but that doesn't cover hunters. I know you can add the additional liability to cover hunters (about $800 more annually for us) if you wanted to. We lease property in Oswego County (~600 acres) and split the insurance fees that the landowner incurs. They were willing to let us hunt it for next to nothing. However, one of our original members is an insurance agent and insisted that he put the additional coverage on his plan and that he allow us to pay for it. That was nearly 25 years ago. Between the 8 members in the club we pay $300 each annually. This covers his insurance and gives him a little extra spending cash. They don't hunt and let us build a small cabin on the south end of the property to stay in. Couldn't ask for a better deal. Sorry for the derailment...haha
  20. Here are some more pics from the last month or so. It appears that I have 1 shooter for sure along with a few that I would like to see make it another year. A lot of does and fawns! EK000003.AVI
  21. I have the react on my bow, it is very heavy. I'm actually considering switching for that reason. I love how the sight performs and it is super accurate but you can definitely feel it. It is nice when shooting long range (100 yard sale), it only requires a small adjustment. Right now it's set at 20, 30, 40, 50, 60
  22. Shooter buck in its 2nd year, first bag is new, second bag is on its 2nd year, third bag is on its 3rd year. I just rotate them out further the older they get. The yellow one is good at 50 yards and beyond, but any closer and the vanes are getting buried. Almost bought a new shooter buck the other day at Walmart. Have them for $49 plus a $10 mail in rebate. It's a small target but for the money it's a suitable 3D target.
