UNLESS someone over cooks it. -
Did he say he didn't sharpen them?

I've taken 5 deer with the same Montec and used them for target practice as well. Take them for a trip around a good diamond stone and they are better than new. If there is no damage, why not use them?

They will replace the tag on any deer that is not fit for consumption. Not just for a mercy killing though.

Propane lights and stove. Solar panel with 2 deep cycle batteries and LED lights. Shower with a propane instantaneous water heater. But the most important part of a camp in my book is an old fashioned perk coffee pot. NO Coffee tastes as good as coffee out of that.

Well we couldn't find a horn anywhere but we took 4 does. Could have been more but with the temps they had to be skinned, deboned and put in the fridge right away.

52 for me -
I will be up there as well. Headed out after work tonight. Saturday looks like shorts and tshirt weather and Sunday looks like rain in the pm. Not hoping for much but I'll be there.

everything you listed with personal experience is valid but you can't infer that everyone else is the same. The harvest numbers don't take passing into account but I can say that since the annual buck harvest it around 50% for yearlings, there are still a lot that don't. My point is that the anti crossbow crowd keeps speaking about how easy it will be to use one as if it will be some magic harvest tool. I don't see it. If you really look at the harvest numbers and and think about how many folks take multiple deer (I've taken 8-9 in some years) there is a slew of folks that don't take even one, and that is with a gun. The crossbow is NOT going to be a substitution for woodsmanship and even if some think is is when buying one, they will be disappointed in darn short order. IMO. I just got one, becasue much like Grampy, I like a little variety and I will probably be carrying my compound, recurve and crossbow, depending on my stand and what my mood is. I'll probably carry it more this year than in subsequent years becasue who doesn't like taking a deer with a new weapon

Ok. So I get this right. 2/3 of hunters in NY are lazy and can't score with a gun. But we put a crossbow in there hands and they will all of a sudden start to take deer? We must be saying they will take deer because they are going. Change the face of the archery woods. Right? That orange army will march in, slaughter everything and then stick with it year after years because it is making it so easy.

Ii am glad yo brought this up. If having one that shoots so much like a shotgun or rifle is a magic pill that will allow all these slobs to take deer, why is it that the majority of deer hunter that ARE using a rifle or shotgun don't get a deer. If a rifle and shotgun are so easy wouldn't it be like shopping and everyone should be able to get one?

In for a penny, in for a pound. baiting, crossbow, in closed area. I am betting they wrote a few more than that too. -

If the picture shown really goes with the story, it was a crossbow as well. -
These foam targets' vitals are wrong, right?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Core's topic in Deer Hunting
It sin't set too far back. the dope that assembled the thing put the square replaceable insert in backwards. If you turn it around it may be a bit high but is in line correctly. back edge of leg and half way up the deer (top of heart and both lungs). -
http://www.countertopepoxy.com/premium-clear-epoxy-for-countertops-bar-tops/ in their photo gallery under bar tops look at photo 8 of 11. I was really looking to do the penny bar at first but my wife saw the copper patina kit and my plans got changed. If you put a boarder on all sides of the bar the yield should be on the lower side of their estimates. If you are going over the edges you will be on the high side. MAKE SURE THE TOP IS 100% LEVEL or you will chase it off. it will just run and run and run some more. I would think each penny would have to be glued down so they don't move while you are moving the epoxy around.
