Once you recondition you mind that being over the "spot" you are aiming at doesn't require a release I bet it disappears. I've seen guys slap that trigger like they are plucking a banjo and it is amazing how many have a hard time NOT hitting the trigger when over the spot.

Let me make a suggestion. Next outing do not release an arrow. Not a one that outing. draw, come on target and everything just like you are going to shoot. aim.....hold.....and let the bow down. Do it again. do it as much as you would have on a practice session but NO releases. Second outing do that a half dozen times and then try a release.

I understand your point but don't totally agree with the reason for the shots going high. It isn't as much about peep alignment as it is a change in draw length. Or in the case of a hard back wall on a bow, pressure against the back wall. If you draw longer you are imparting more energy in the limbs. If you put pressure against a hard backwalled bow it also imparts more energy. both result in a high shot. I can't show this but can explain clearly enough that everyone can try it if we agree on the two previous points I made. Get a piece of string or rope. hold one end in your bow hand and put your release hand to your anchor point with the rope in the other hand and drawn tight. So it is laying like an arrow with you in a drawn shootign position. Now lower you bow arm to simulate shootign at a deer on the ground and NOT bending at the waist, what happened to the rope? It needed to be longer to do this. Not bending at the waist for a shot adds more energy that you are sighted in for and makes you shoot high.

when you say "few" are you meaning 6? lol. Sounds like plenty of time to me. you aren't picking up a new bow. It's only a sight.

They are 100% legal. It doesn't project a beam onto the target.

Not all that common in PA or NJ either if you look at averages. They sure get more than we do but they are the exception and not the rule. I have only seen one that was killed that was over 500 (540). It looked like a black refrigerator...lol The one I posted with the white crest was Ontario Canada. It was a Female and was 245#. She was 7-1/2.

That is equivalent to a 180 class buck

All you had to say was that you didn't want to shoot one...lol

Anyone have an AMAZING Dry Rub Recipe to share?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to t_barb's topic in Game Recipes / Cooking
I mentioned this in a bear thread but I use it on pork ribs as well. 50/50 Montreal steak seasoning and brown sugar. Put in a blender an pulverize. I like taking the inside membrane off all the ribs I make. I guess it a habit from smoking. Rub ribs and with the mix and wrap in plastic wrap. Do not stack ribs and wrap them. you want the wrap against all the surfaces of the ribs. Place in fridge overnight. remove and grill low and slow. On occasion I add some chili powder or cayenne pepper to the mix. -
what size are you looking for?

This is from the question and answer part. Do I need to have my deer tags with the deer meat in my freezer?A: No, the tags remain on the carcass. When the carcass is disposed of, the tags may also be discarded. However, when you are transporting packaged venison, you must provide a tag with the meat. Based on DEC's answer it would appear anything other than the meat would be the carcass. So once it is reduced to "meat" the part you were trying to reference wouldn't apply?

Anyone seen this guy lurking around?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Culvercreek hunt club's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
Happens every year. About August 15th they will disappear. Figure they will be about 2 miles away in the corn at that point...lol. The girls usually hang around and I count on them to bring a few of these back around around November. -

Let me really tease you. The previous enhanced pic in the deer way in the background of this pic. What do you do knowing that big guy is around and this one walks in? -
Stealing and selling venison - caught in the act

In my experience, properly vacuum sealed outlast the other three and if you are keeping it over 6 months, worth the money and time to do it.
