I find it odd and what bothers me most about what just took place, is the inconsistency in the process and approach. Let me start by saying I don't care who marries whom. I am glad you put the two topics in the same post, gay marriage rights and gun rights. We have the former that is not an enumerated right in the constitution and the latter that is. We have two groups of citizens and by the numbers I have seen there are more gun owners than gay. The differing approaches to secure a "freedom" can ONLY be viewed as political hokus pokus when they are not given at least equal effort. Popular votes against gay marriage in states are nullified yet popular support in a state are used as justification for current or future gun control. This was a left vote grab, plain and simple. On another note. since the line in the sand has been officially moved for a legal marriage, what is next? How can we say no to Polygamy? Wait until the cost of that tax code rewrite come around...lol. How about things like family insurance plans?

Well we shouldn't be surprised at the ruling. After all the Justices are lawyers and think about the new crop of clients they just made for their brothers in divorce proceedings...lol. The divorce attorneys are all out buying big ticket items this weekend with anticipation of the new revenue stream. Economic "stimulation"?

And Mississippi falling under fire to change their state flag as well

I know what it "means" to the majority. My concern really is, like so many other topics, What's next? Do we tear down the Jefferson Memorial since he owned slaves? How about George Washington? It was team names, now a piece of cloth. People are just to damned sensitive and everyone runs scared to appease.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/black-college-student-sparks-debate-hanging-confederate-flag-dorm-room-kind-weird-black-article-1.985611 Some people don't see it at a symbol of racism.

I was talking more about the flag catching the flack and even merchants dropping the flag due to public pressure. Virgil., your comment about what the flag represents is really what is at issue here. based on your comments I understand what it represents to you. It may not be the same for others. There are people in this county that have very strong feelings about what the US flag "represents" Should we take that down to avoid offending them? Should the Betsy Ross flag or the Star Spangled Banner be banned since slavery was so prevalent and not opposed by the US at that time?

I am pretty tired of "outrage" with inanimate objects like guns and flags when the focus should be on evil. Taking a flag away won't make anyone less racist. Passing a new gun law won't stop the criminals from getting one. Maybe I was out of school the day it was covered, but what Amendment to the Constitution guarantees the right not to be offended? We are PC'ing our country right down the drain.

Daughter's & Boyfriends.........
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Lawdwaz's topic in General Chit Chat
My daughter is 20. I have lived by the motto "keep your friends close and your enemies closer". The only way you are gonna get to know him is to have him around. And better yet that is a perfect way for him to get to know the crazy side of you. -
What safety issues?

I don't get the over penetration comments. I have a dozen that I bought with my new bow. 5 deer with the same arrow and same broadhead. quartering away at 35 yards, perfect shot and through the off side shoulder blade. All the way through an no damage to the arrow. The only arrows I lost were the two I messed up with a robin hood. I have not had one issue with the inserts either.

What's The Deal With 22 Ammo?

That is the first box of AE 22 that I ever bought. Never knew they were 40 rounders. -
Papabear, did you use it on stainless or glass liners? I have always used Dip-it coffee pot cleaner on my stainless ones. that works great too.

What's The Deal With 22 Ammo?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to DirtTime's topic in General Chit Chat
The ammo manufactures are playing some games though and I got bit. Was in Gander Mountain in Syracuse a couple weeks ago. they had a few bricks of American Eagle hollow point. 10 box bricks. 5 box max per person. So since I was with someone I got a brick. $3 a box so a pretty good deal, right? Well I thought so until I opened the brick (It has been so long since I actually had a full brick in my hands...lol), well the boxes just felt weird and on closer inspection they were 40 round boxes not the normal 50. so instead of the 6 cents a round I thought I bought it was almost 8 cents a round. Not the deal I thought I was getting. -

As a percentage compared to what? Fewer Antlered deer in terms of overall harvest numbers or fewer antlered deer compared to the Archery totals? -
think they could hit their harvest numbers that way?

One word of warning if you use a split kisser that slides around the string. it has a slit in it to allow the string to pass though. if you have a beard or a long moustache there are some shots that will literally bring tears to your eyes if some of the wishers find a way into that slit just before you shoot. It really gets you attention...lol
-
try adding a kisser button and it may help the mental focus and relearning the anchor because it will give you a physical feel in the corner of your mouth.

Currently in 8C (at least it was a we years ago) you can take as many does as you want, just have to keep checking them in. not sure about the other areas but the WMU's impacted in Region 8 are a pretty easy trip to region 8 headquarters.
