I have to be at 25+day that were dedicated to deer hunting. Add to that numerous sits during the evenings after work, until the clocks were changed. I travel about 3 hours one way when hunting up in NZ. SZ Camp is about 2-1/2 hours. I have properties around home that are anywhere from a 300 yard walk to a 45 minute drive.

Do coyote and crow contests tarnish hunters' image?

Agreed, I can see them wanting the biggest bodied animal they could take though. No matter if it is a good rack, busted up half rack or a really big doe. -
Where was that?

Possible Reasons for a Bad Gun Season?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to CharlieNY's topic in Deer Hunting
I still don't understand the idea that on State land there is a hunter behind every tree. (Especially after the first week). I would think that big block State land, late season and snow would make for an ideal hunt. I have hunted state land in 6 and 7 and the hunting pressure is nothing like it used to be and very low after the first week. (you downstaters and your public land is a whole nuther story...lol) -

My favorite line out of the articles. "Or it could be that hunting is one of those experiences that appear utterly different from the inside than the outside" -
How much powder and what bullet is working in that? They are rated for 100gn? Been keeping an eye out for a BP pistol barrel for my Encore. Wondering how badly they kick.

Take up duck hunting for a season and feed a steady diet of that during some good shooting. You probably wouldn't notice the cost and many probably wouldn't either, but there is no denying that the non toxic option is more expensive. There are only 3 calibers that I am currently still loading with any lead. I am hoping I can get the range time to work up some all copper loads for those this summer as well. I probably wouldn't even miss lead for the shotgun but I can tell you that I really miss having it for my fishing sinkers. These new sinkers suck big time. That is the one item I look had for at any event or garage sale. I am actually thinking of starting to cast my own. -

I don't think we need to be in their face but the time is gone for being silent. Efforts need to be made that help the NON's understand what we do and why we do it. That will require effort and tact. The deck is stacked against us, especially with the media. The true Anti's need to be taken head on. Our silence and thinking that it won't effect us or believing they will stop if they get their way, is the wrong approach. -
Buckmaster, was the 300 a typo? Edit,. Nevermind I read that wrong. I didn't read as the bullet weight over a max charge. I read it as a powder charge 300 gn over the max. My mistake.

Stubby, Is this your land? Can you identify what may have changed? Has the property gone to a mature hardwood forest with few mast species? Maybe some habitat improvement is in order. If you build it, they will come. -

Simple. Easy targets that are generally quiet and most carry guns. -
Wonder how long before we see these used?

The one I posted send video right back to the hand held portion. Having spent all bow season sitting next to standing corn that has never been planted there before I often dreamed about flying over it to see if anything was even in there. Lol -

kludes, any chance you can post up video clips showing the process? It would be cool to watch a walk through on it. (I have seen a bunch on YouTube, just never really know if they know what they are doing)
