Variable Eye Relief
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Elmo's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I have 3 of their scopes and have owned Leupolds in the past. I think the glass is as good. It is a lifetime transferable warranty. Basically it is a fix or replace guarantee and no questions asked. Good friend bought a crossfire and after a couple range sessions the fine cross hair broke off. He called, shipped it to them and had a new scope in about 4 days. I believe. Razor=made in Japan including the glass. Vipers=made in Japan including the glass. Diamondbacks =made in Phillipines Not sure about the crossfires. -
Didn't LI fall into the ocean? You guys are all screwed up down there with your regulations..lol

Wildcat, Ever check out the Vortex line of scopes? -
you have an either sex tag that can be used early or late when appropriate privilege is purchased. IF you did not fill you regular season tag you can use it in the late season to take either sex. In my case I did not take a buck yet so I can take two bucks in the ML season. How is that for optimism...lol

I see what you mean Grow. Both implements are legal in the late season in SZ and if you have purchased both privileges, I can't see why you couldn't have a bow, a crossbow and a ML. All 3 are legal in that late season.

One instance of many.

What is draining? If it is anything left in the body cavity wouldn't that just come right out of the mouth and nose?
-
I agree with the lack of shots in the later part of the season. So if the hunters aren't out and then the pressure is reduced? Right? So why the need for a shortened season if the bucks are taken in the first week or so?

I'll PM you my address. You owe me a new phone. I just spit coffee all over mine with that one. Perfect!!! -
So do we raise the Resident licenses to about $500-600 each to cover all the manning of the check in stations?
-
I've seen guys that were excellent shots at the range and really put in their time, totally fall apart when anything with anything with an antler walks out.
-
Do you guys cut them up when hanging by the heads?
-
Hoping I might be doing it this weekend...lol

Back when I was young we used to have my Grandfather and great uncle get their licenses. But we only used them to apply for a doe tag. It was 3 on a permit them and with my Father, uncle, cousin and myself we could only apply for one because there were 4 of us. With their licenses on the application we had 6 so we could submit for 2 doe permits. Still legal for us to fill the permits if we got them because we where on the permits. I think that was done a lot back then because they were so though to get. and the licenses weren't as expensive. (Theirs was free I think because of their age).
-
Yeah. you can do both Bow/ML with a doe in early season and then the regular season tag in late season. 3 does. add in the doe permits and you can tag out and never take a buck.
-
That is true. Whenever I think of confronting I think of those Wisconsin hunters that got shot for kicking the guy out of his stand on private property. You never know what desperate people will do.
-
A old timer I know, years ago had a similar situation and he got their license plate. He had also put a dime in the ear of the buck as soon as he reached it. was enough to get those guys busted.
-
But a large section of the state doesn't have doe permits and many WMU's are very limited. I would like to see all doe take to be handled with the foe permit process. Do away with the special season tags all together. One buck tag and draw for the doe permits in the areas you want.

Ohio's total take is quite a bit under what NY does if I remember. I wonder how their hunter numbers compare to ours? None of these DEC / DNR's seem to really give the break downs so you can really take a stab at an accurate evaluation.

The issue I see with running a late season, especially in the context of an AR thread is the very real possibility of shooting a doe and having it be a buck that has already shed. I know we all get pics much later than that with horns still on but why protect them with AR's only to shoot them after they drop their horns?
-
So you think bow hunters can pick up that slack in the numbers above?
