  1. I like climbing sticks but these gotta be easier to carry.
  2. http://www.bowhuntingoutlet.com/folding-rope-tree-step.html?&gclid=CPLp1bHYk8ICFSho7AodKFYAEg
  3. I believe that the online is only a portion of the class and still requires an in person hands on section. I can't say it is a great idea to beat up on a new hunter but there errors made need to be pointed out. Part of the learning experience. I don't believe in the patting poor behavior on the back and saying it is ok and maybe it will be better next time without pointing out that both shots were piss poor with low percentage recoveries and high percentage wounding.
  4. How about the strap on steps? Also. besides the fine they can hammer you with the anticipated market value of the tree as well.
  5. A friendly word of caution if you don't know the bottom. be careful with mucky bottoms and ice. whole different animal if you go through and your feet sink.
  6. Damn!!! I just looked on gun broker and those things are going to 700-900 with the 25th anniversary going up around 1200.
  7. We have used chain saws and sledge hammers. Two other things I might suggest are a long pole with some sort of sharp metal point to push the ice chunks under as was said earlier. We also used to take our equipment out on the ice with our decoys in a canoe. slides easily and even if there is snow getting to the spot it makes a great sled. It does two other important things. Allows easy access into the water to pick up the decoys if you have to and should someone go though it makes one of the best rescue tools. We have done this ice fishing first ice years ago, but I don't go out unless there is 6" of good ice now. Good luck.
  8. WNY, It's fine. I see him for what he is. I imagine that forced intimate encounter he had with the sasquatch has left scars that may never heal.
  9. I was wondering the same. I was betting it wasn't something like a windshield since he mentioned a chainsaw...lol. Have we had enough cold weather that any water is frozen yet? maybe up north
  10. Should at least reward you with a free hunt. LOL
  11. With the roads closed in so many of those areas, I can't imagine how the shovelers could get there? I have only been out to one game. I remember there being a ton of parking on peoples yards and off stadium grounds. Without those spots is thee enough parking on the grounds for the entire crowd?
  12. As long as you are within the law, set your own standards. Sounds like a perfect call on the first buck. As long as you are happy with what you are doing, don't bother changing it. There may come a time when you want to, but don't let it be pressure from someone else. Good luck out there.
  13. I am 49 and started to go with my Father when I was 8. Haven't missed one since.
  14. Personally, as long as they are hunting only their property I would prefer that they were close to the line as opposed to 50-75 yards off shooting with our property as the back stop.
  15. who cares about a baseball game anyways? Are the Bills Triple A?
  16. all you have to do is add an inline valve and you can drop below 200 easily and adjust where you need it. Simple. I wouldn't trade my propane smoker. it can get hotter and I can take it anywhere I want with no electric required.
  17. we have 3 so far on our hunting property. best investment going. we can do a 4'x4' 6' tall on legs for about $140. waterproof and comfy.
  18. If it is warm they get skinned and processed immediately. The deer taken this past weekend were cut up Tuesday night. I leave the skins on. It can be tougher to get off but no big deal. I like to minimize the air contact with the meat because you end up trimming off dried up meat after hanging with the skin off.. 3 guys, 3 Deer. 3-1/2 hours from lights on to lights off. All cut, vacuum sealed and cleaned up.
  19. 3 Whitehouse Reps at the funeral of that criminal kid. Can someone please remind me how many Whitehouse reps were sent to the funeral of Officer Daryl Pierson?
  20. I watched two small 6 pointers the last Saturday of Bow and they both had distinctive racks. On my Sunday night watch I saw them again at different times but both now wore a broken side. I heard one fight as I was walking out of the woods one evening the last week and I only heard it one other time in the woods. Reminded me that when I try rattling, I NEVER make enough noise. It was loud and very aggressive.
  21. The NRA threw token financial support to Astorino. I don't remember the number but I think they only gave him 5 grand and then ran anti Cuomo ads the week prior to the election to the sum of 100 grand. Everything I have read had their focus on the national scene and the races to take the Senate back.
