  1. I still don't get the fear of what? If his son or daughter never picked up a long or compound bow and chose to use a crossbow, I don't see how it changes anything for you? If it was their choice and they practiced ethical hunting and joined our bowhunting woods I mark that as a positive regardless of what they chose to use. The sequence you went through and the choices you made seem to have worked out fine for you. I would bet their choice work out fine for them as well. I don't know if you have kids or not but I can should you a ton of kids on youth football at 12 that couldn't pull back a legal bow and many more that couldn't hold it as may be required for hunting.
  2. New Yorks AR is not that way though. the 3 point rule could be a one spike with 1 sticker measuring 1" or a spike with one brow tine an inch long.
  3. Ours is DC electric and Propane too Doc. Wood stove for heat and we carryin our drinking water too. Relaxing being off the grid.
  4. Once you hit the trigger it is more like a rifle. Getting and keeping the sites on it until that point is like any other pistol. My Encore in 308 is much more accurate than I am...lol
  5. Rochester store is not closing.......yet I guess. They are opening another store because of our gun businees friendly NY environment.
  6. What WNY said. I hated the feel of the hinged trigger. Probably just not use to it but it just never felt right.
  7. Actually I left to better job security and wages and the benefits were comparable. See. outside the Unionmy job performance was judges as a basis for promotions and continuing assignments and the better assignments. I couldn't stomach being told to sit unemployed on a waiting list to go out on the next asignment. The year I quit the BA told me since I had just about 5 years in and there were union members with many more years than I had, expect the list to be side stepped to the longer union members "got their weeks in". (Back when you needed 26 weeks of work to get 26 weeks of unemployment). I know there are slugs and great worker in union and non union sides of the isle so this will probably ruffle a few feathers. Hard workers with good work ethic don't need a Union to "look out for them" It is the slugs that need a union in most cases.
  8. What do you think the possibilities are that the cause could besomething that another Mayor in town could catch? A guy can hope, can't he?
  9. And that was one of the main reasons I quit the union I was in. I hated that my money was supporting a "cause" that I didn't. Kinda like drinking acid the burn it gave me.
  10. It was in the newspaper http://www.watertowndailytimes.com/article/20130107/NEWS07/701079944
  11. It is a beauty Ants. If you ever had any concerns about the gun, I know some guys that shoot the lighter framed Smiths (K Frame I think) and it is suggested for those to shoot the 158gr as oppsed to the 125's Seems to minimize any frame or forcing cone issues. Volumes and volumes written on those but I havene't heard any issues like that for yours.
  12. DOn't sweat it Pygmy, he/she must be off the meds again.
  13. They can walk out any time they want. The Valley is really seating it right now. This past summer the Union Fork and Hoe burned to the ground and the intention is NOT to rebuild that facility. The Arms had just put on a couple hundred employees too for the new contracts. Again...I wonder how many of the union employees voted the demoocratic line?
  14. LOL Had it in my favorites becasue I have 2 buddies that just ordered off the links in that thread.
  15. We just had a thread on this and I gave links to some of the stuff I got when I got into it. http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/13316-new-to-reloading/ I chose this set up becasue I could use in in single stage operation for my rifle rounds and in a more progressive mode for pistol ammo. with everything set up I can load 100-150 357 magmun in about an hour. For rifles it is flexible enough to load even long magnum rifle rounds and the price point didn't break the bank.
  16. <<--------FUBO sticker proudly displayed since the beginning.
  17. From what I learned at the seminar we had I would think the tooth aging up to 3.5 should be pretty flawless for the most part. after that is seems a bit subjective.
  18. yesterday our low broke the record high
  19. I thought it would hae been a normal or worse winter than average. I feel like we keep rolling the dice and it has to come up snake eyes eventually. Benn quite a while since we had a REAL winter.
  20. Phade. With all this knowledge how am I going to convince you to take up a role with GRST QDMA? Get one fo those over the shoulder baby hammocks and get over to the meetings...lol
  21. Not to get into a Union bash, but I am from down there and I wonder how many in the Union voted the Democrat line and put the tool in office.
