NY Reloaders I need your advice.....
Culvercreek hunt club replied to bushnell's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
9.20 is about spot on for over the counter (non-bulk) prices, not including brass. -
I would love to know the whole Bio story about this guy. no license. alledgedly not above illegal activities, spends $6-000+- on a canned hunt. Not saying this is the case but how would you like to be an ex-wife with delinquent child support and the ex-hubby is taking a canned hunt? I can just see this ending up like a soap opera.

Hope you get this licked quickly, Dom.

Just me but I wouldn't put the cart before the horse.I wouldn't worry about components until you read wahtever reloadign manual you settle on. There may actually be recommendations of things to avoid by the manufacturer of the equipment you choose. (My Lee Turre with the priming says to avoid Federal primers in the unit). I have no idea why but I wasn't going to risk it). There may be items like that so I would read...read...then read....lol. those bullets and primers are great at first glance and I use both in some of my loads. (check out Sierra Game kings as well). I don't have any experience with the 280 or the H4350 but there are several powders adequate for the round. I chose powdersthat, while maybe not pefect would do a GOOD job in multiple calibers for me. Just cut down on the number of powders I have laying around. The other tip I read that I really really like is knowing the volume of your cartrige and selecting a powder that will fill the casing at least half way. This really is a safety check since you can't put a double charge in the case. You will really enjoy the process. -

But just as many have done before you and since you there is probably a group of plotters packing it in and some new ones starting. If everyone in an area stopped at one time, like a new law banning food plots, I can see maybe an impact then. Maybe that is playing into the stance for allowing it. A big economic plunge could also strap the plotters since it is pretty costly

Well if there isn't an episode of Bones or CSI in this story. Man what a way to go.
-
Doc. except for High peaks and Catskills I can't imagine the food plotting efforts come anywhere close to the actual agricultural. I have no way of know the numbers but when I fly there is a pile of land in agricultural production and I can't imagine the plots can influence a population boom.. that is 100% conjecture and I base it on nothing but what I see.

That is inconveinient. I simply don't allow it to happen...lol.

ABSOLUTELY!!!

full length sizing does the entire casing. Neck sizing only does the neck and the rest of the casing remains fire fored to ONLY the chamber of the gun you are using. I have been told and read to full length size for auto loaders. Yours is a pump so I have no frame of reference. I neck size for my Encore and 700 but full length size for Dad's 7400. sets of dies are different. I use the Lee Deluxe set and they give you the neck sizer AND the full length sizer in the set. If you find extraction issues and you neck sized I would go to full lenght sizing. -
why on earth would you hava a pistol and have in in the pack...lol. On the hip or under my arm.
-
" It is my pistol, I am coyote hunting" Seriously though, I can't understand why they don't allow it. I know on some early and late walks I woul feel better with mine on me.
-
Would be way cheaper if I had chosen to just pay for it and go the professional route...lol. At least on a per unit cost analysis
-
I know time can be something we all are lacking but I would file in small claims court. my have to take up a hobby just to bust their stones!!! They might toss you the cash just not to have to deal with it. Hope it works out for you and Grow had a good point. Check your credit rating to make sure they dind't hose you there too.

I didn't catch what his 280 was. I have read and been told to full length size for any auto loader. -

I have had very good results with crushed walnut. I bought untreated and actually add about a half teaspoon of Brasso brass polish in to it. It is cheaper than buying treated media and does a great job. Not problem with my bowls. The smaller one for small batches is really thick. I cant imagine that cracking. I like the vibrator as opposed to the tumbler because i let it run as i remove brass and tip them neck down and touch them to either the threaded stem or the bowl and any hung media pops right out. I tumble before i deprime so the depriming makes sure the primer hole is clear of any media. Did you already by the Redding or are you still looking?
