  1. That is what I was going to say....lol I have had guys give me permission back home with the understanding that I accessed the land fromt he back and DIDN'T tell their wives they let me in...lol. They both did sign permission slips for me because I just didn't trust in my gut that is push came to shove with the wives they probablly wouldn't admitt they said I could be there. If the wife is not on the property and the husband gave permission to the others I bet you can get in...at least for access and tracking
  2. refresh the page after that. I thought mine didn't work either but when I refreshed it I was there
  3. upper right hand menu on the map...click on add location and type in your zipcode...or city and state
  4. The company I work for is looking for a certified pipe welder for our fabrication shop in Rochester NY. Pay is between $16-21 and hour based on experience. Requiremnts and benefits are outlined in the Careerbuilder ad I gave the link to. If you or anyone you know is qualified and interested....drop me a pm along with answering the ad. Thanks http://www.careerbuilder.com/JobSeeker/Jobs/JobDetails.aspx?Job_DID=J5H81W6978V97JPN3FQ&siteid=cb_emailjob_US
  5. I am thinking Sam need to work on his scent elimination skills......seems like he has no one in his area....lol. Great idea guys and it came out nicely
  6. are they really wild pigs? Russians? I see some of these shows from down south and alot of them look like Farmer Joe's pigs that got out.
  7. I was up in NZ this wekend for the rifle opener. I made it up there Friday by 2pm to get an afternoon in for the last evening of ML. I couldn't believe the rifle shots I heard that evening. There is quite a difference in the souond between the two and It made me sick knowing the guys that were starting the season a day early.
  8. We had two up north this past weekend like that. I swear the spots just came off because they weren't over knee high. Deer by themselves can be tough to tell if they are moving. I really use the nose as the main guage for single does. haven't made that mistake in years...lol. but I did quite a bit when I was younger. And WNY-----It double as helping me hide the grey in my beard as well
  9. You really have to lay off fawns. I most hunting situations it would be impossible to tell if it were a button buck. short of having it nearly below you and seeing the buttons....or being in a pit blind and seeing...seeing...well you get the point...lol
  10. That is why I carry a can of brown spray paint in my fanny pack....cover the spots...lol. Seriously though....The adult doe goes down...fawns or no fawns
  11. You think the herd is down in WNY? where are you hunting? If your reference is the 80's and 90's the herd is probably down from what was an overpopulation. as for AR's....that is not a population control. It is viewed by many as a tool to increase buck populations but not in the overall herd.
  12. Ditto...find funnel areas and if possible locate a food source......berry bushes. oaks...beech nuts. if you are hunting these hilly areas be aware that even on a very calm day there are thermals that move air up and down the hills in the mornings and evenings.
  13. that is cool, I know the option is a battery eater but I am always tempted to hit the video button on the trail cams just for this reason.
  14. first legal deer in front of a new hunter should hit the ground...spots and all...lol
  15. If any of you guys can afford the wife or the first born .......you are welcome to them...LOL. (God I hope she doesn't have an account on here)
  16. I thought we were talking residence....I'd let you guys know that....no way on the hunting areas...lol
  17. great idea. I know you can check each individual's location if they choose to post it but this would let you really see who is around you.
  18. http://www.midwayusa.com/Product/1938469977/flambeau-handwarmer-with-shell-holder-neoprene best 25 bucks you will ever spend. Waterproof because of the neoprene. cuffs so wind doesn't blow in....one of those dry hand warmers in there on the coldest day and you won't need any gloves. most time I just use the muff and no handwarmer. Take mine to daughters football games and ice fishing.
  19. yeah...imagine what he will look like at 7-1/2 years old!!!....let him walk.....right up to your stand and then put him on the ground...lol. Good luck with him. You are 16 and have a lot of time to get picky if you choose to. Enjoy the chase and if you bag him after the chess match it will be one you remember for the rest of your life. Depending on the land and how much access you have.....I would suggest cutting the distance to his bedding/feeding area. If you can't get to there then find the most active trail used by the does and wait him out...couple stands and play the wind. With things heating up he will be trailing the does within the next few weeks.
  20. much like deer the meat taste is effected by what they eat. I took one in Canad and it was a bait hunt.....the outfit only used grain and meat for bait....meat was wonderfuland my daughters favorite. My father took one 2 years ago in the very southern range of the NZ bear area. Is is Ag land and the bears had been eating corn all summer and early fall. That was even better than the one I took in Canada....now that said...prior to those two I had tried bear twice and I know both were taken up north in proximity to dumps....they stunk when you skinned them and the meat tasted like crap. I have read that bears can have trichnosis.....but like I tell everyone that says they do not like venison "how do you eat your beef".....my opinion ...venison or bear cooked more that medium is junk....tough and gamey.....I do both bear and venison medium rare to medium.
  21. Great videos. Most I could give him is 3-1/2. not sure of the area of the state you took this in but I would put the other 2 you listed at maybe 2-1/2's.
