Finally gonna get some range time
Culvercreek hunt club replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I hear you Doe. I would rather shoot my .06 than my 12ga. -
you could by a carbon that equals the stiffness of what you are shooting and could get one lighter. that alone would pick up your speed and flatten it out. Personally I try to shoot the lightest arrow I can that keeps me in a the recommended stiffness. A lot of folks like heavier arrows for penetration but I have never shot a deer over 25 yards so penetration has never been a problem. (except for the one season I used a mechanial Broad head) Only deer I have not passed through on.

he was probably refering to the fact is is slower and less powerful than the new ones and you would get relatively the same performance at a lower cost using Alum arrows. any bow can shoot them. You can put High Grade gas in any car but probably not going to notice any benefit from the additional cost in a '74 beetle

I only have two words for you.....Lead Sled -
not sure how true it is but I was told the flex of the shafts in the carbons is less than with Alum. arrows. I can't imagine that since the carbon on here flex so much.

I think he meant the bus drivers get hourly pay. -
fawns are frequently left alone so teh doe does not leave her scent near it. As humans we project human feelings into situations for them. "Awww the poor animal is left all alone". A baby left alone will perish but usually young of the animal species are far more capable of surviving. I think this all started with that damn movie Bambi....

ATV winch
Culvercreek hunt club replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in ATV's , UTV's, Dirtbikes & Snowmobiles
Hey WNY. I have an idea for adding a 2" box reciever to my hitch on my 500. the rear end of your machine is set up the same way I think. Once I get it done if you want to go the receiver route I will let you know. The material cost should be under $20 bucks and allow any 2" components. -
If I recall correctly from a special I saw on them. A purely domestic pig that is turned loose will develope the wild pig charastics in darn short order. The majority of the pigs in the wild are of a domestic variety. The true russian boars are few in number but will cross bredd with the domestics turned wild and produce more russian traits int he offspring. Banning at the preserves might be one step but what about any domestics from a farm? how do we control that?

ATV winch
Culvercreek hunt club replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in ATV's , UTV's, Dirtbikes & Snowmobiles
I have a 2500# on my 500. only used it twice. Once to pull myself out of mud over the foot boards and second time was when I overestimated my clearance crossing a log. Pulled right out with no assistance from the tires. Just threw it in neutral and operated the winch. Having the controls in a conveinent spot is very important. Also I suggest if you get one, first thing to do is pull all the cable out hook it to an imovable object and run it back in towing the wheeler so it is wound under load. If you don't the wraps are loose and a strand can pull into the ones under it and it will really bum you out if it binds when you first need it. -

those are crazy powerful machines. Do you know if you have to use a suspension lock for those when pulling implements? -

I do agree, the only way the privatization will work is the breaking of the teachers union. If the teachers of the individual schools want to unionize then they should vote just as an employee group in any other business. if the vote yes and burden the school so heavily that the school can not be competative, they go out of business. Provide the best education for the best price and it thrives....don't and you fail....the way it should be. -

Sits. If your logic is valid then we should be turning over all private sector business to the govt. The problems with the healthccare system are not because they are privately held and operated. I would love to be able to select a school for my daughter that fit her needs....where she was surrounded by kids of similiar interest and talents.....where I was getting my moneys worth in her education. Not like now when she sits in advanced chem class and has a 98 average and doesn't know squat.....I had to hire a tutor for her ...not to keep her grade up....but so she understood the actual lessons. The teacher is incompetent and since she has been there for years...untouchable. great system..not -
I am sure some of you guys remember it lower but I can remember flipping out when it went into triple digits....."WTF....1.00 9/10 a gallon ...are you kidding me". The pumps had to be reworked and no gas stations had sings that were capable of posting over a buck..... This morning the pump quit and I couldn't even fill up. $100 in the tank and just shy of 3/4 tank.

I know some guys don't bother but I have always gone for a direct ground rather than relying on the ground through the ball. seems like those have always given me problems in the past. -
the Hess station near me has installed TV monitors above each pump and a streaming porn to them. They think we might as well be able to watch someone else getting screwed while we are.

voucher system and privatize the education system and the problem is solved. The govt can never do anything as cost effective ad the private sector. -

How many of those jobs in mind do you have that require a 5-6 year degree for less than what people can make at McDonalds as an assistant manager LOL...maybe the best and brightest aren't going into teaching then.
