  1. Backstrapper...QUICK DIAL 911---I just heard a couple of the guys in the AR thread hit the floor. I think they just had heart attacks. Seriously though...the nursery I filled the tags on was getting about $75,000 a year in rubbing damage alone. I amazed me how a buck would just walk down a line of small saplings and hit every one just enough to scare and ruin the marketability of the tree. That was a lot of loss to stomach for a small family owned business.
  2. This one gives tips for removing smoke residue http://www.ehow.com/how_6346153_smoke-out-deer-mount.html
  3. I think I have seen that stuff before. Does it smell like a drycleaners solution?
  4. The way I do it is with the soft bristle brush....kind of like they suggest. The hose on the vacuum I use has a port that opens to reduce suction. it barely moves the hair but doesn't just put the dust into the air. I like the article....have you used any of the techniques?
  5. they appear similiar in many regards. I wuld think anyone capable of using a gun to hunt could operate a crossbow. There are cocking aids. weight and firing operation are very similiar ...model depending.
  6. where do you hunt. By me the state land has them excluded except in special areas for the handicapped. Private land ...I guess it is owners call. you hunting state? (public access)
  7. I have not, but I will for sure this year! there is another one ...I think it is called Bobwhite soybean...it is a climbing soybean designed to be used with corn, sorgum or sunflowers.
  8. unlike the handicapped parking stickers, which can be issued for a temporary condition this bill does use the term "permanent". No matter what the issue...there will be abuses. This would mean my father could bow hunt with me again though. Looks like the best case most of this years bow season would not be included due to the november start date....IF DEC even chose to act. Sounds like just because there is a law DEC has the option to inact it as they see fit...or not.
  9. I wouldn't use a hose and water on it. I think the hide is put on moist and allowed to dry and shrink to the form. If the mount is old like the one you have it could be like a papermache underneath and getting wet could ruin it. I vacuum mine with the bristle brush...if it is soiled I would probably let a professional do it.
  10. 1- bow/ml either sex 1-bow/ml antlerless only 1-Regular season 1- first choice doe permit 1- second choice doe permit 2-late draw extra permits those are just my tags...now I could have 2 more doe permits signed over to me. Based on what area you are in///hunt in---you may only get the first 3 and there are areas in the NZ that even restrict the antlerless take with bow/ML. In my case I had all the above...and 2 DMAP's from my hunting lease. So legally this year I could have taken 11 deer
  11. I bought the same .22 probly 5 years ago. it has been a great gun I have one and love it. I am trying to find a new tub magazine for it now....my buddy let it fal out i the snow and didn't realize it...best price right now is $28 plus shipping.....the dam gun only cost me the $105...lol
  12. for those with the financial means that always is an option.
  13. Now this I can agree with. I think because this is so public it has a more in your face affect. Just one point though....signing over permits isn't illegal
  14. I know you weren't bashing...didn't mean to sound upset...it is just tough to fill every ones needs and still not fall short....maintain or go over the management numbers required.
  15. Consider yourself fortunate Joe. I nkow families that really do depend on the venison to help them out. THey aren't guys with fancy gadgets or fancy guns....just money for tags and take them for food on the table. Still pretty cheap meat if you take all the frills out of the sport. Or it can be crazy expensive meat the way some go at it...me included. I know since you hunt up north you have seen what I mean. Not to songle out up north it is all around the state but at least the guys in most of the SZ have a shot at some doe tags. Tough call...I dont know how to apply it across the board without hurting some
  16. In your words...as long as no law is broken anything is OK. Everyone here has said this type of shot is needed at times. How you pull it off and the manner in which it was deon..on tape and publically posted is what I take the offense too. If I am making a choice to do something I ask myself.....will this help anyone or will this harm anyone. well they shoudl have asked that question becasue this in NO WAY can help our sport or put it in a good light. only bad things can come from attitudes such as these guys demonstrate....and you never did answer what your issue with Christians was....capitol C by the way
  17. Have at it Joe...LOL We can run shifts on this tool but I really think it is a lost cause. You just can't fix stupid.
  18. Bear dragging is the absolute pits. they roll....hang up...go everywhere but where you want them too...lol
  19. I haven't lost my cool. Most on here haven't. I think the mojority are just reaing and can't believe the position you have taken and the lengths you have gone to to try to justify it.
  20. Covert......those are words to live by right there...lol. I am hoping they do some genetic engineering and really focus on the jack-a-lope thing. 12 point.....24" spread.....3 pounds
  21. The quote was "I hope you find some way to do a better job than your parents did".....and from the heart, Pat, I do. This anger and attitude you are carrying around should be laid at their feet.
  22. Where did you get that info? The dealer we spoke with clearly said a registered rifle could have the numbers put on a permit with the barrel caliber listed. ML too
  23. I think you better go get some Doritos, Pat, to cure those munchies from your previous break...You really aren't making sense now. Just for the record I never questioned your child raising ability....I questioned your parents ability
