NFA, That sounds like a good idea. I also noticed the tuneup last year didn't include new wires. So the wires on the truck have 100,000 miles on them. I'll do the Top cleaner run it then change the wires and plugs. Thanks for the advice. FL

Here is the latest update. Talked with the Chevy dealer. Service manager said it could be a cam problem but they didn't detect any noise. Stabiltrack will shut off when the truck misfires. My mechanic still wants me to run the truck with the fuel additive to clean out the carbon. Well I got in the truck this morning and the engine light was off. Ran it about 50 miles and it is still off. Going to do 1 more can of the Techtron and see what happens. Truck still has a slight rough idle but I would imagine any car with 200,000 miles on it would.

happens on LI all the time. Shotgun season starts in Jan and there is always one or two small fawns brought in that weigh in the twenties.

Well it was a great day out east. We saw a total of 9 deer and I took a small doe. It was my last chance to salvage the season and it happened! Also a picture from the trail camera. Another big buck still holding headgear this time of year. A decent 7 pt was brought into the check station today. Only a total of 25 hunters on both properties.

Headed out to Rocky pt tomorrow 6 of us. Have a bunch of spots together so we will do some drives and see if we can kick up something. Always a great time this late in the year! I'll report back tomorrow!!

Also have to say truck runs better after first start up when its cold.

The 8-4 cylinder deactivation is acting funny. When the stabilitrack goes off I lose the 4cylider option. It stays on 8 cylinder all the time.

Stubby, I'll try the battery and cables. That is an easy one. My mechanic also talked about the cam having a flat side causing the problem. Thanks to all of you I will try everything talked about. It is really a bad bad time for me to come up with this money. I hope something works.

I hate to give up on it also. Going to try a few more things this weekend. My buddy owns a Chevy dealership I'll bring it there for a second opinion.

Basically he was saying you are better off spend a few more grand and getting a new motor.

2007 Chevy Tahoe. 196000 miles. Lately its been having a rough idle. Engine light came on and stabilitrack warning came on then shut off. Checked the error code which was P0300. This is an emission system exhaust error. Brought it to my mechanic and he checked it again and said # 8 cylinder was mis firing. Changed plug wire, coil and injector on 8. Still has the misfire. We are currently running Techtron through the fuel system. He wants me to do this 4 times. If this doesn't help he said I probably need a new motor. He said by the time you do valves and lifters a new motor would be a better option. I'm at a loss, other than the misfire and stabiltrack going off the truck runs great. Any thoughts out there? The feeling of being lost in the woods is never good. I have had this happen a few time. I guess the wort feeling was being up in a ladder stand and hearing shots and then the whirling of the bullets (3) passing very close to me. I had no where to go to protect myself. Needless to say that stand with the way the land slopes does not get hunted at gun season anymore.

My brother inlaw does works great.

My Brother inlaw makes the syrup and it is great. When I move up to place full time I'll do it also. Question about bears. Do they ever mess with the sap collected at the tree? I have a decent population by me I think it could be a problem? Thoughts?
