  1. She is not feeling well and going to work at 6:00. I would watch the end of some football games and attend to your wife. It will pay off later in the season when you need to be out there. I think in the long run you're just going to piss off a sick wife on her way to work. Don'y want to be you when she gets home!
  2. Going to rain by noon with thunderstorms. Clearing later in the afternoon. Deer move in the rain. The tend to be a bit on high alert all the time though. Rain with little wind, I would be out there. Just make sure you can handle it. You won't hear them coming in and you must dress accordingly. Two years ago we were going to do a all day hunt on Sunday and leave after dark to come home. It was raining by 10 am and I gave the boys the option stay or go? We left by 1:00. We turn the corner at the end of my road, still raining pretty good but no wind, and out in a cut corn field happy as a clam was a nice 2.5 year old buck. Go figure.
  3. A few years ago it was the final weekend, December 14th I think. Here I am at my stand Saturday morning. Down my field comes not 1,2 or 3 deer but 15. All were yearlings, small bodies and not one adult in sight. you can't tell me they don't make it through the winter. These are the deer that keep the population going. BTW an adult did show up trailing them. A 1.5 year old buck which I took bead on and fired. Only to have my powder moist and a roman candle came out of my gun doing no damage. Typical for my camp. lol
  4. I hope you made her breakfast!! Awesome enjoy your anniversary "Team Oblivitar"
  5. Love this thread, I'm in the middle of Manhattan and feel like I'm out in the field…..sort of.
  6. Had to open the dark one up. Nice buck! Lip curl???
  7. I think where I hunt in 8P coyotes are a huge problem. Deer can't make a comeback against them. We had two groups hunting them last winter. They put a hurting on them but not enough.
  8. with a bow in NYS. I believe two, your bow buck tag and either sex bow muzzy tag. Is that correct?
  9. I live on LI and work in NYC. A very strict place for gun control. I have never had to defend hunting in way some of you talk about. In fact most of my city friend are curious to the whole process and have asked to try venison. So gun control and Cuomo have nothing to do with it. Posting pictures like the ones in this thread just give us a bad name.
  10. Good luck guys and gals, be safe buckle up, strap in and hang on for the ride.
  11. A scaled down version of the hero. Cost $129.00 it's a beginner camera but will do the job.
  12. Just for the record the NY Times did not film this. It was an independent film maker.
  13. France has a law and Germany is about to pass "no work emails on the weekend and after 6pm at night" we should follow but it would never happen.
  14. How many of us have the deer status from the Danbury Mint???? lol
  15. The average salaried worker about 50 hrs a week. I really think it falls upon the individual to cut ties with work on off hours. When I call in sick I'm still watching email, setting up the daily schedule. I did a stay vacation in August and was on email everyday. A lot of people are used to this and its expected but not mandatory.
  16. Do you guys really believe they sent it out to sway your vote? My god that would hang you for treason in your own party…$350 bucks.
  17. just opened up my check, I needed this…….
