    Hi Bill, I mentored a kid a few years back in NY. He has moved on to huntig in Vermont in the Brattleboro area. This year he has picked up some nice deer and bear on his trail cams. Tough area to hunt but he is starting to pattern the deer. Any advice on hunting Vermont?

    I got one of those also last pull. Difference is I gave permission for the young lady to ride my trails. Doesn't hurt anything and she stops around Sept.

    Good point Grow. We all have our opinions on gun control but like you said, the could of, would of and should of of that night should not be debated.

    Post Denver shootings. It's funny how you don't hear a peep from Ted supporting gun rights. I think the NRA would skin him alive if he opened up his mouth right now. This guy isn't worth a grain of salt.

    If no action takes place the same thing will happen over and over again. Put a variable in place and it will stop some these crazy acts. That is good enough for me, someones life was just saved. For example, take away that 100 round clip he was able to use. Yes, some of these crazies may find them anyway but it may stop a few, lives saved. It has to start somewhere, laws that govern ammunition and guns that serve no purpose to the ordinary American have to be put in place.

    I believe 4 of the victims were service people. I wonder if they wen't down trying to protect? Probably so.

    Guy had way too much firepower and protection. All bought legally. This may be the tipping point in America. I'm a hunter and enjoy my firearms. For me there has to be something done to stop these weapons getting onto the hands of people who want to kill. What he bought online is outrageous. I know most of you guys don't agree with this and I respect you. This is the way I feel and always have. The guns we love turned upon our own people it has to stop.

    In a smokey dark theater we don't need more people around shooting guns. Yes I wished there was a well trained individual carrying a gun and maybe that would of made a difference. Like I said the person has to be well trained and able to kill a human being, I don't think most of us could do that. Very unfortunate situation I feel badly for those who are suffering.

    Easy way o tell a buck from a doe in the fall. During the rut hormone changes cause bucks scat to coagulate.

    It's called the "G" spot. G I never thought deer would be in there. I have come across some of those spots. Usually save them for a slow hunting day and put on a 2-3 man push.

    Funny how a thread about banning fires in a time of drought turns into government bashing. People can lose their lives, livelihood and all possesions. By the way we are hunters and need the woods to hunt in. This is so typical of a few on this website.

    I would for sure. The family loves venison and I love being in the woods watching all of its wonderful creatures. What would be the reasoning behind not shooting bucks?

    Cats oh boy. I got my kids a cat or should I say I got myself one. Never had one and never will again. Smart as a whip and listens to me but the F-ing hair. I bought a dog that doesn't shed, what was I thinking?? Oh yea and they love to jump on the counter tops. Set the rules straight right now.
