  1. My nephew texted me late last night so I didn't get to talking with him. He said there is more to the story. erussel my nephew told me the guy started doing this 5 years ago and learned how to do it by reading a book on the subject. That is wild, I'm sure you can do it! Yote damage was bad, they tore the back end to pieces. BTW when the little dog found the deer he tore into it also, nephew said you had to let the dog have its time with the deer and then the guy called him off.
  2. Guys, Well they found it but not after the coyotes got to it. Deer by all accounts would of been 200lbs dressed. It's a 6 or 7 pt don't know if the browtine counts. The dog was put on the trail and didn't lift its head until it found the deer. My nephew said it was amazing how this dog worked. The deer was found in the thicket where they last had blood. I'm glade he found it, he really put in his time to find this animal. A big thanks to the guy (I'll get his name and number) and his dog! This is my nephew's first with the recurve, I'm really excited for him.
  3. Very nice, lots of eats!
  4. No I don't think so. I believe he had blood most the time.
  5. Hey, Nephew just called, someone from the DEC is bringing up dogs to search for the deer. This is what he told me. He made a few calls and the guy on the other line told him you better be sure that the gut pile was from your deer, it's worth double checking on a deer this size. What the hell, guy offered so off they go. Should be in the woods in the next hour or so. Like deer search they use Dachshund dogs to find the deer. Guy told him his dogs have found deer on 5 day old tracks. Weather been good so maybe just maybe the gut pile was from another deer and at some point my Nephew picked up the wrong track?? I'll keep you posted, if he finds this deer it will be an amazing story.
  6. Will do guys, thanks for all the support.
  7. No he didn't check the pile, he is pretty upset, this sucks.
  8. Thanks guys. Well it ended with him finding a gut pile this morning. Tracked the deer to the place where he died. Found no arrow at the site. So it goes at least someone got him. Sam thanks for texting him.
  9. I find myself having the same problems. The more time I have the worse off I get. Good advice eddie.
  10. Good luck finding him, main thing is you didn't push him.
  11. Sam, I going to PM you. He has tracked this deer for about a mile it's back on state land in a one acre thicket. He's not pushing it anymore tonight. He is going back tomorrow morning. Burt
  12. Haven't heard from him. Sam I'll let you know next time I talk to him. I know he has 3 or 4 guys helping out. Thanks
  13. Mom and 4 cubs that was cool, great video!
  14. I think my Nephew has the same problem. Arrow stayed in the deer and little blood. They were still looking at noon haven't heard from him since.
  15. That is really cool, thanks for sharing!
  16. Here is the latest, I lost internet service so couldn't post last night. They had to back out because the buck went on to posted property. This property is really thick they didn't want to push him, so hopefully he beds down and expires. Still had blood when it they backed out. He tried last night to get permission but could not get a hold of the landowner. He is trying again this morning and will give me an update.
  17. Hey guys, well here is some proof on how they get broken. My neighbor found this under a tree that has been rubbed this year. It wasn't there two days ago so now we have three nice bucks with half racks running around!
  18. Send her over to Doe and Steve, they like'em with no teeth! lol
