  1. great job! Some real nice deer this year!
  2. Great day Eddie, that deer sure will taste good! Nov 10th, I know the date! My buddy served in the Marines, Vietnam, he calls every Nov 10th!
  3. Fasteddie, The Marine Corp's Birthday. I worked with a Marine years ago and he let everyone know who crossed his path that Nov 10th was the U.S. Marine Corp Birthday. I just might give him a call Nov 10th. Thanks for the reminder. BTW his name is Joe Vasallo and he served in Vietnam.
  4. HaHa, Everyone let me introduce my brother Jeff! He is still looking for his first ever bow kill, first he has to look through his peep site for that to happen. The hunt will be great!
  5. Get the dogs in after deer season, here they can kill many on a good night.
  6. No blood on the nock just fletchings. The arrow wasn't stuck in the ground when I found it. I like your thoughts, could of been a clean miss and the deer came down on the arrow. The more I think about it, I bet you that is what happened. Thanks Guys! I owe you a beer!
  7. Years ago while bowhunting I shot a 6pt. The arrow deflected and I did not see where I hit the deer. The deer reared up on it hind legs, hit the ground and then staggered off. I got down and found the arrow. It was bent at probably the 8" mark from the broadhead and only had blood on the fletchings. Blood covered all the fletchings but none on the arrow or broadhead. I had no blood to track either. After looking for hours for this deer I did find a small puddle of blood a few hundred feet from where I shot it but never recovered the deer. I can't figure this one out, can you?
  8. Good luck and stay dry, now I'm out of here before I catch what you have!
  9. Cool Fletch. Love seeing those Eagles. I'm on Rt 17 for almost 4 hrs and I see alot in the western Catskill area. Word of caution about the eight, I would hate to see him do the vanishing act on you, never know at this point when he will lock onto a doe. Good luck!
  10. You guys notice the deer behind the girl and the tree, I've seen this picture before.
  11. Thanks Fletch-seems like you have had some action. Good Luck!
  12. That a boy! Mountain men didn't stay inside when they felt sick ( I don't think they had an inside) Nyquil and a good nights rest, maybe 1 video!
  13. Gang, Heading up this Friday night. I have my 15 year old friend with me and Brother. We will see if he repeats last years success! Weather looks perfect! GLTA, Burt
  14. Zemm, You know as well as I, just when you least expect it BAM! Hang in there my friend! I'm coming up late Friday night and staying until Tuesday evening, I'll give the shoutout as I drive by. This weekend looks to be real good.
  15. Maybe you should stay in and not hunt, watch old hunting shows!lol
  16. Sorry but have to agree the boys, the meat taste the same, now pass the tenderloins!
  17. I have noticed that some of you guys hunt with your shotgun or rifle first day then switch to smokepole. Just your preference I guess. I new one guy that went back to the bow after 1st day.
