  1. This morning I walked to my furthest stand. About 7;15 I turn around and catch movement of a deer it was a buck. Nice body 8 pt but the rack was too small. He comes to my scent line and starts sniffing back and forth. Looking in my direction I think he wants to see a doe. He doesn't and heads the other way on my scent line. Warm and windy this afternoon. Going to sit in a stand that is next to my cut beans. There are some left in areas. GL
  2. Yes neck shot. He pulled up on the shot and was lucky. His third buck in 5 years with the recurve. Deer went 40 yards piled up, easy track job!
  3. Saw nothing today but my neighbor shot this 10 pt with the recurve!!!!
  4. You guys are great. I sent a nice text asking if not I'll just hunt up top. Great group thanks guys!
  5. Last year my neighbor hired a guy to cut down all his ash trees. He was working about 50 yards off my back border. I have two great stands right down there. I confronted him and asked him to stop working for the week. I told him I have 4 guys at camp we drove 6 hrs to hunt all week. He said no now is his busy time and he continued to cut. I called the owner (I have a nice relationship) explained what was going on. He called the guy and he didn't come back. This year I let my neighbor what weeks we would be up. This week was one of them. Now Monday was a bust with the wind but this morning was ok. I was at the top of my property and hear chainsaws and tractor down below. I'm in a foul mode so I'm not walking down there. I will call the owner again. I understand work is work and his happens to take place in the woods but it's November!! I even asked him to move to another part of the property and he said nope. Please don't hold back if I'm wrong. My neighbor owns about 400 acres.
  6. Saw 2 doe three fawns tonight and the Fisher again. He walked within a few yards of the does they din't care a bit. Not as many rubs as I would think. Plenty of scrapes.
  7. Took a long walk hour ago. Only cut one track. Had a fisher come about 20 yards from me. Beautiful animal.
  8. Slept in with that wind howling. May do a mid-day hunt? Inch of snow on the ground.
  9. Nothing this morning. I pulled the cards some real nice ones. The big 8 was the one I saw scare off the does.
  10. Got up here around noon. Had a good first hunt. Had two doe come by around 4 then a nice buck scared them off. He was in my field really nice white rack. 15 minutes prior to dark three doe come out. Headed to the field then came another nice buck that was headed my way. Too dark to shoot. He trotted off not liking something.
  11. Leaving tomorrow around 5 am. Should be at camp by noon! My brother is still up in the air about coming odds are he doesn't. He actually just bought a 28 foot camper to use surf fishing on the Island. He wants to get it inspected and ready to go. Can't blame him. Her is the third owner. First owner was the President of the Montauk surf fisherman. This guy was a celebrity you can actually google Willy Young and his videos come up. He was on some really famous shows and the camper is always in the background! Cool stuff. I'll report in tomorrow night!
  12. I checked in with my neighbor in 8P. He stuck a nice 6 pt with a recurve! He said the deer are on their feet and bucks making all kind of sign.
  13. I have a 2007 Tahoe with 257,000 miles on it. I cant tell you how many sensors I have changed. Hope it's minor. Buddy just has his tranny rebuilt it cost 2k.
  14. Just a tad under 8 grand. Two new burners, thermostats and duct work. You know your trade! Thanks.
  15. Right on time for the week of the 2nd. Words from a legend..... We've observed that the second full moon after the autumnal equinox stimulates both buck and doe rutting activity. ... The rutting moon was November 1st, and where the air temperature was less than 45 degrees Fahrenheit during the day, chasing was reported to be intense by everyone collecting data. We've observed that the second full moon after the autumnal equinox stimulates both buck and doe rutting activity. ...
