  1. Mine was a tree lounge, around $450 I traded it for my bow and currently use ladder stands. Next summer I will be looking to get back into climber stands and all I can tell you is buy a light one. I was a sweaty mess by the time I got to my tree
  2. LMAO! 5'10" at eye level, I'm sorry but I'm calling B.S. That means that doe was the size of a horse.....Literally
  3. climber! Too much involved with a hang on for state land. Plus you have to buy screw in steps or a ladder. I would go with the climber personally
  4. Both, I don't have a favorite. Either one is fine with me. Although I have no problem sitting on a "hot seat" at the bottom of a tree.
  5. Awesome. I always enjoy your videos Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2
  6. I agree Doc. While it is worth it to bring my son on a small game hunt I will be giving up a bow hunt. My luck a monster will walk within 5 yards! Lol. Ahhh the things we do for our kids right Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2
  7. Congrats Biz! Glad you had a successful hunt Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2
  8. Must have missed that one. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Guess I'll grab a shotgun myself and do some small game hunting too. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2
  9. That should be an interesting 20 page "discussion" like the AR threads this year, LOL
  10. I thought about that also however I saw this http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/8310.html Although after rereading it, it doesn't saw BOW hunting only deer hunting. Either way it's fine, I will gladly leave my bow at home just to enjoy watching him hunt and getting into the sport!
  11. We will be doing that this afternoon. I will have my bow deer hunting and my 12 year old son will carry a shotgun incase a grouse, turkey or squirrel should happen to venture by. The only time a hunter can complain is if they are on posted land and someone tresspasses onto it. Otherwise its just the nature of the beast.
  12. That fits all of this years arguments. AR and a spike, LOL Seriously awesome rack! He should be proud Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2
  13. All these harvested deer are really getting me fired up. Couple more days of work then I'm back in the woods
  14. Isn't that how it usually happens LOL. Still a nice encounter. If you were ready would you have taken one of the doe??
  15. IMHO if you can hit a pie plate at 25 yards then you will be in a deer's vitals.
  16. Little, on-and-off sprinkle I will go. Steady rain I go back to bed. Rain washes blood trails and I have never had any luck in the rain. I think they are mainly just bedded down in the pines to stay dry. IMHO
  17. I prefer mornings. Love to listen to the woods wake up. Evening hunts are nice too but I would rather be out by 11. Best of both worlds, hunt the morning and still have the afternoon for other things. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2
  18. I ONLY reason I don't carry mine during bow is because its the law. Couldn't agree more with you. I passed my background check and have nothing since my check, must be I can't be trusted. The ones that carry a pistol without a permit or would use it out of season are the same ones that probably shouldn't be hunting in the first place.
  19. I carry my Smith and Wesson .357 during gun seasons. Mainly for a finish off gun if needed (rarely) but if one comes in to bow range I would consider using it as a primary. Not worth the risk to carry during bow season or muzzleloading,
  20. I have a couple for messing around. The grunt and bleats are too quiet but the fawn in distress in a good one Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2
  21. Congrats Pat, nice looking doe. She should eat well. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2
