Did your dad have an antelope tag as well?
  6. I shoot a 2012 pure here. Shot the e35 @outdoor show. Didn't think they could make a bow smoother than my pure. I stand corrected.
  7. You don't have to be lonely.... At farmers only.....
  8. Now thats an evaporator!
  9. Saw a flock of 8 today driving. Saw tracks on my property of 3 birds today when I went for a walk.
  10. How is the season going for you folks? On about 15 trees we have managed about 60 gallons of sap thus far. Slow go so far waiting for a warm up.
  11. Only trading? If not do you have a cash price? Also What kind of "wheel gun" are you looking for to trade?
  12. +1 on book. Its a good read.
  13. Wny did u preserve the velvet on the doe? I thought I recall you posting it when u found it and it still had velvet? I cant tell from picture. Good luck in your outings.
  14. Looking foward to seeing you find some headgear, good luck.
  15. I was reading about this program on the DEC website. I found this very interesting, however it left me with a few questions I thought I would direct towards our Tompkins county members. I have only had the opportunity to stop in Ithaca once in my life. (I stopped for lunch at this NY style pizza place that was amazing) First, for a two deer daily take it has to be crawling with deer? Second I know Ithaca to be a very liberal outspoken society. Have any of you members participated and have you encountered any negative force from the community within the deer management focus areas?
  16. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/big-dog-17-1-2-stadium-series-xl-ladder-tree-stand?a=826548 I really like this stand. The concept of having two hunters able to hunt one stand and have different viewing angles is a huge plus to me.
  17. Four seasons whitetail...May I ask are whitetail farmer's able to insure their bucks? On the contrary what if a paying hunter shoots a wild whitetail(somehow broke into enclosed fence) that scores respectively. However this wild whitetail is missing the game farms ear tag. You are on their property now. Are you paying or are you not held responsible? Im not trying to stir the pot, I am just curious as to how this situation could be viewed differently. Reading most of the above responses the common theme is property ownership. If its your land that your paying taxes on, land you are given permission to hunt on, or state land your within the legal ramifications to harvest that deer. In the end theres always the line between ethics and legality. It was legal was it ethical? Its not for myself to judge this hunter as he followed the law accordingly. When you think about it I would much rather hear this kind of story then the poacher stories...
  18. http://www.inquisitr.com/1696496/monster-buck-worth-almost-20k-escapes-hunting-pen-teen-kills-it/ I thought I would post this and see what the forum thought of this story. Its a quick read. My thoughts were mixed. The teen was aware of the deer escaping the preserve, so I thought it was premeditated and seemed wrong. However on the flip side I put myself in his shoes. You are 17, you see a monster that you are aware has escaped from a game preserve, what would you do?....
  19. End of the year. Great season as far as deer sightings. Was only able to harvest one buck on thanksgiving. Buck was a 5point with two tines broken, should of been a seven.
  20. I think it will definitely get you by especially if your only ussing it for the late season. I had a wolf I liked it, took a nice doe with it. I did upgrade to the cva accura v2 and its a dream. I like to use my muzzleloader during regular season, so I treated myself to the upgrade. The wolf will do what you need it to do, and at that price its a simple decision.
  21. Thats a fine buck for this time of the year! Congrats
  22. Thats a fine buck for this time of the year! Congrats
  23. Lawdaz have u seen the heated rechargeable foot warmers? Kinda pricey but they look nice. It has a remote that u can shut them off, this would be nice if u decide to move and dont want swampy sweaty feet.
  24. Hunting is an escape. It is one of the few thing's that can put me in the frame of complete happiness. Its about disconnecting with society, and finding who you are. I hunt because it is who I am, and what I love.
