The hunting is phenominal there! Jamie Vann (from T'burg) arrowed this monster in the Forest this past season (scored 175 5/8):

I'll go out... but it'll be after noon before I do. I fish Catherine Creek (runs into Seneca Lake's south end), and most of the cowboys will be off the creek by then. I'll fish a hole in Millport that my son & I use to fish when he was alive and two in Moutour Falls, then call it quits for the day. Also being retired I'll wait 'til next week to really start fishing - with my flyrod, some nymphs, and other old fishermen.

Happy Birthday Geno... Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy...

Geno, This one's for you (as you get ready to head out on your 30th to the Bahamas). A married couple walked into a sandal shop while on vacation. The Jamaican said to them, 'I have some special sandals I think you would be interested in. Dey make you wild at sex.' Well, the wife was really interested in buying the sandals after what the man claimed, but her husband felt he really didn't need them, being the sex god he was. The husband asked the man, 'How could sandals make you into a sex freak?' The Jamaican replied, 'Just try dem on, Mon.' So, the husband, after some badgering from his wife, finally gave in and tried them on. As soon as he slipped them on to his feet, he got this wild look in his eyes! In the blink of an eye, the husband grabbed the Jamaican, bent him violently over a table, yanked down his pants, ripped down his own pants, and grabbed a firm hold of the Jamaican's ass. The Jamaican began screaming, 'You got dem on the wrong feet mon! 'you got dem on the wrong feet!

My bro just brought back some from El Salvador, so I'll have to get a couple of them to enjoy (don't know what kind or size). Not a real aficionado here - just a puffer of a couple per year (or less). When I was stationed in Puerto Rico I enjoyed El Cohiba's (sp) most everyday.

NOPE... :'( I use the Archer's Choice RF by Nikon - works great (until it gets dark - then it gets hard to view yardages). I usually range objects around me again - before low light... I have seen them on Ebay for less than $225, but that was for ones that had been used.

You got that right D (Pygmy)! Homo Sapiens are the ONLY animal on earth where the weakest breed - and they appear to be the most prolific. Great Story!!!

I'm huntin' 'em with my bow this year, I HATE bitin' down on birdshot :-[ !

You're in trouble now... the requests for your wife's negotiating skills are going to rise after a few more members read this. Congratulations on the new bow - hope you connect with a deer this fall with it.

Are you telling us that you like the meatballs that your wife cooks, or some other sort of meaty balls that she might have? LOL Golly gee... ??? Oh my... WHY YES!!! :-\

Hang your backpack the easy way
MuzzyLoader replied to fasteddie's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
I hang my backpack from an old broken limb that extends from the tree about 4" when I'm at my ladder stand located on my hunting buddy's property. When I use the climber on my buddy's property I screw in a 'turkey foot' and hang my stuff from that. I leave it tied to a pull rope attached to the stand when I'm on my cousin's property. I like the idea you suggested regarding the eye bolt. -
NO! I don't eat balls off from any plant or animal (although I like my wife's meatballs ).

A Fiddlehead is Delicious!!! From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Fiddleheads or Fiddlehead greens are the unfurled fronds of a young fern,[1] harvested for use as a vegetable. Left on the plant, each fiddlehead would unroll into a new frond (circinate vernation). As fiddleheads are harvested early in the black season before the frond has opened and reached its full height, they are cut fairly close to the ground. Fiddleheads have antioxidant activity, are a source of Omega 3 and Omega 6, and are high in iron and fibre.[2] The fiddlehead resembles the curled ornamentation (called a scroll) on the end of a stringed instrument, such as a violin. It is also called a crozier, after the curved staff used by bishops, which has its origins in the shepherd's crook.

Dave Thompson out of Campbell, NY. Had a mount scored by NBBC last year and made the book. The scorer said for a mount that was 20 years old it sure didn't look like it. He said it was a "Beautiful mount" and asked me, "Who mounted this?"

THANKS! Just told the wife... her mouth is already watering (although she added with the cheese and leeks - a bottle of wine).

YUP... use to go every year with our son, but I only go once in awhile now to dig some up. Drove by an area today with my nephew, where I've dug them before and commented on how great they taste, because of this thread. Hey G... How about I drive over to Cuba and help you harvest some? I'll drop my wife off at the Cheese Factory and let her spend a couple of hours. LOL.

LOVE LEEKS... Put 'em mashed potatoes, soups, anywhere you'd put an onion.

strangest thing you have seen/heard in the woods?
MuzzyLoader replied to greene county's topic in General Hunting
Cameron girls... you got that right D! Got to see something similar to Four Season Whitetails one year. Was archery hunting in a hollow one sunny afternoon when I heard some screaming. Across the valley was my host's daughter and her boyfriend running through an open wheat field... clothes flying through the air after taking them off, and then came the tumbling. I KNEW I should have gone back after my binoculars when I discovered I had left them in the truck earlier! (Hey Pigmy... you know her). Same woods, different time - had the paint pony of the girl in the above incident walk up to me while I was archery hunting. That damn horse was always breaking through the fence. -
??? l can remember when gasoline was $.249/gal. The following examples DO NOT imply that gasoline is cheap; it just illustrates how outrageous some prices have gotten over the years.... Compared to Gasoline... 16oz of Lipton Ice Tea @ $1.19 = $9.52/gal 16oz of Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice @ $1.25 = $10.00/gal 20oz of Gatorade @ $1.59 = $10.17/gal 16oz of Diet Snapple @ $1.29 = $10.32/gal 9oz of Evian Bottled Water @ $1.49 = $21.19/gal (and buyers don't even know the source) 7oz of Whiteout @ $1.39 = $25.42/gal 12oz of Brake Fluid @ $3.15 = $33.60/gal 4 oz of Pepto Bismol @ $3.85 = $123.20/gal 6oz of Vick's Nyquil @ $8.35 = $178.13/gal
