You're right, it is night and day. Difference is that Midway made a decision and then later realized they can milk some more $ from NYS residents, and Dicks made a decision and stuck by it.

Ford, it's obvious that there are a lot of unanswered questions surrounding this tragedy. I can understand keeping things on the hush for investigation purposes, but it's WAY past that and there needs to be some answers. Weather there is or is not a coverup, the victims family's, those affected by the gun ban, and the American people need to know what's going on.

No one said you can't support these institutions, we're just talking about not purchasing a NY license to hunt. I'm not sure if it's fact or fiction regarding the state tapping into the DEC funds, but if they were, a boycott to hunting licenses would in fact send a message to the state. No one said you can't stay at that motel you've always gone to, or purchase a few beers and eat at your favorite diner. With the $ saved from not hunting, you can even bring along the family for a little vacation in the woods. Bring along a camera in case you see something you'd like to "shoot".

I'm looking for the truth, and why the truth has been covered up for so long. I'm also looking for how this all plays into our government playing you and I and taking us for a ride. You do know that this event triggered unprecedented gun legislation right?

It's fine. I'm just playing devils advocate, I don't have a stake in either weapon, as I have access to, xbow, compound and recurve. But as far as NYB, I've only heard about their general stance on the subject, never looked into what they are about. Just hearsay.

Since crossbows have been around for so long, why were they not included in the original law to allow them in the archery season?

Night hunting is allowed in Stewart and Sterling, permit and phone call required for Sterling. You can track a coyote all over the forest, and still can't find it. They're fast and small. Best to use the pheasant fields and call to draw them out.

So why not just have one season? Seems like everyone wants in on the early season.
