There's a whole clan of them living in my friends house in the Bronx. Freaky when they are walking between the ceilIng and second floor.

Just came back from hunting in Orange county, got a few crows and squirrels. Also took out a few reds and chipmunks. Today is the first time I encountered a squirrel that didn't die from a headshot. After the recovery, we noticed the squirrel started breathing again and started to move. Had to finish it off close range. I'll have to inspect where the shot went wrong later.

Hey papa, Where a outs in LI are there squirrels to shoot? I use an airgun, so the shots are relatively cleaner than that taken from a shotgun. Let me know if you ever want to show a new guy around your neck of the woods. Shawn

What I would give if the squirrels around me gave me 15 feet shots. Likely to never happen. I use 4-16x 40mm scope and usually have to shoot at 15 yards to 45 yards.

I'm currently taking squirrel from 30 yards with my .177. More than 80% of my kills are from headshots. I'm working on extending my range to 50 yards, but it takes practice. Squirrel hunting with an airgun is awesome!

I listen to it when I have time, but I did hear another one where this girl admitted on the radio that she thinks that her man is cheating on her, and that she was cheating on him to get back at him. She wanted to confirm her suspicions by having the station do the war of the roses on him. Long story short, he confesses his love to her via the roses, and she was shocked. Then the radio hosts were like... *ahem* don't you have something to tell him? She was so scared that the truth about her cheating on him would leak out, you can hear it in her voice. She made up some crap, and then the host was like, I think she wants you to meet someone. Then she's like, "yeh I want you to meet one of my girlfriends". The host goes, no, someone really special. Then the dude is like "this just got really awkward". After the prank, the host explained that under the agreement, they are not allowed to disclose her statements, but they are allowed to air the conversation. So eventually, he's going to hear this on the radio, and he did and left her ass later. That was some funny stuff!

Which sign is more informative?
shawnhu replied to mike rossi's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Perhaps if one is an anti, they will go out of their way to find out where the hunting grounds are anyway. We should probably think of the reason behind the signs in the first place. The reason for posting a sign is to let people know who's property it belongs to, and what may be going on in that property, if it was available for public use. With that said, STATE LAND should be on said sign, like that in the yellow. But stating that this is a WMA, doesn't give much information to those that don't know what is meant by that. Stating that Hunting and Fishing is permitted by License would greatly help in letting people that what goes on behind those signs, so that they can take caution should they decide to enter.- 38 replies

Most of the older Japanese cars utilized timing belts to drive the cams instead of chains because it was quieter when ran by belt. The only problem was that belts break after certain rated mileage and/or years. With that said, I've never heard of a belt going on a Japanese vehicle before it's rated time or mileage. Do your part, and the car will do theirs. P.S. Interference engines is what it's called when the pistons slam into the valves, destroying the head.
-
Unfortunately, a lot of Japanese vehicles have been outsourced to North America now. I wonder if the Japanese people are bitching like we are about how their vehicles are outsourced.
-
All this bitching about Chinese products being inferior, but most of you still buy Chinese. I hate the way that the economy is collapsing as well as the next person, but blaming the Chinese and their products is just ignorant. We live in a country where money talks, and bullshit walks. For most Americans, if they wanted to get ahead in life, they'll need to make adjustments to how they spend, and survive in the corporate world, even if that means buying Chinese products and outsourcing to 3rd world countries. I'd rather risk buying a poorly made product for 1/10 the price of a quality product, anyday.

Lower the legal shooting distance for bow????
shawnhu replied to ELMER J. FUDD's topic in Bow Hunting
What do you guys think about airguns being less than 500 feet? Same as bows? -
Haha, that's true, I was sweating the other day with a T-Shirt on during mid-day.
-
Hey thanks Walt! What's with the ticks? I thought it's too cold for them to be active now. Did you use insect repellent?
-
So was this the doings of a Deer, or Rabbits?
-
Thanks Elmo, here's some more. This one's oragans were well intact, with the exception of the brain. You can see how large the heart is compared to my thumb.

Here's a few pictures for you folks to enjoy.

Elmo, you forgot the last step of the Phase, Phase 6 - Forum comes crashing down because the attacks get boring, real fast.

President's Hit Squad strikes again!
shawnhu replied to nyslowhand's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Hey woofer, You do understand that the SEALs were created under JFK, for the sole purpose of expanding unconventional warfare? That's just a nicer way of saying "hit men". Without the permission of the President, the operation would not have happened. The President does indeed deserve credit for his decision, but the SEALs no doubt deserve the commemoration of every US citizen. -
bkln, That's my style too, but I'm not too much for the personal attacks that much.

President's Hit Squad strikes again!
shawnhu replied to nyslowhand's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
It was a great thing these service men and women did, no one should be held captive for humanitarian efforts. By the way, did anyone read through the whole thing? I didn't. Chris Lawrence's writing is horrible, every other sentence was so and so "said". -
Hey Doc, I'm kinda new here, and I agree with what you said about expressing your oppinion. I'm too new here to say that I agree with the things being said, but definately if you feel a subject needs to be challenged, say something. We shouldn't just let wrong be wrong. Then of course there are a lot of things are are neither right or wrong, which then becomes politics, like BO. Thanks for taking your time to comment and educate.

Stay away from NYC
shawnhu replied to SteveNY's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
So I guess you guys know ALL the laws across the nation? Wait, let's just start with laws pertaining to guns... yes? If not, don't judge another's intellect based on the fact that his rights was stripped from him, when least expected. Not everyone grows in a messed up place we call NYC and know the work-arounds. Bottom line is, law abiding citizens should not be treated this way, regardless if they knew the law or not.
