  1. Industrial park, but that's getting off-topic. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  2. I thought the right leg looked funny. Birds don't usually perch like that, but the feathers almost covered it up. Nice job posing it. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  3. LL Bean, worth the lifetime satisfaction. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  4. Used to work Port Washington. Nice place to fish and hunt I bet. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

    YES or NO?

I'm pulling a Belo here, NO! What was this thread about? X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  6. Only?! X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  7. You can hunt DEP property at night anytime, even during deer season. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  8. Please refer to above. This is a discussion because some people CAN understand the regs, and others CAN'T. Those that can understand it will obviously find nothing wrong with it, and those that can't will blame the wording of the regs. Have you ever seen anyone say, I can't understand what he's talking about, let me go back to school? No. It's always someone else's fault. 9. There's red fox on the island, Greybeard calls them in all the time. As far as spots, that may be hard to get/find. Calls definitely work. You can try baiting as well, but as to weapon, you're limited to bow, shotgun, or air gun for most practice purposes. You can legally use a falcon, but that's probably not a realistic option. 10. Crows are the easiest to call out of the three mentioned. Squirrels can be called, but they often only respond by barking or moving their tails. Sometimes, that's enough to zero in on their location and stalk them. Crows usually respond better to decoys along with calls. They also LOVE McD's large fries! 11. Any confusion I've had with the regs was not due to DEC. I had to clarify the difference between an air rifle and a regular rifle and its use in 3S and 1C. The wording on some local ordinances stated no single projectile, but on contradiction, also stated air guns was allowed. This was not a DEC reg, but since it was a hunting related question, I had the DEC clarify and put in writing as a backup to any trouble I may run across dealing with local LE. You'll run into more local ordinance issues than DEC related reg conflicts IMO. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  12. Was at the hospital all morning myself to see an old friend for the last time. My condolences. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  13. I use the charts from the arrow manufacturer. In my case, CX. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  14. I'd like to tweak this a little by allowing a special season only for the use of 60 year old fishing hooks to hook your game. Obviously, baiting will need to be legalized as well. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  15. A bit of a tangent on the health care issue, not sure what kind of diversion tactic that is. But in regards to understanding the guide, it really wasn't that hard. And even if it was, I've never had any conflicts getting it in writing in plain English from the DEC, so there really isn't any issue. You say that you understand this law, but you are trying to pick out pieces of the regs but not reference the whole. To me, that's taking things out of context. Have you ever considered running for office? X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  16. This statement isn't entirely correct, but I think I know what you mean. Let me try to clear it up. You are allowed to use a .22 Rimfire, so the statement should read .22 caliber or smaller. In certain areas under region 3 and region 1 as well as region 2, rifles of any kind are not allowed, period. No Rimfire, no centerfire. So that last statement should read, you may use a centerfire after deer season ends in shotgun only areas for deer, and local ordinances allow the use of a rifle for hunting. 17. I don't think they can sum up all the regs in one or two sentences. I took the time to read through the guide and its all in there. In shotgun ONLY areas for deer, any Rimfire larger than .22 is not legal during any active deer season. There are no centerfire allowed for any game during deer season in shotgun ONLY areas. Centerfire less than .22 is now allowed, during an active deer season. In rifle areas for deer, you may use any caliber of any type. 19. I'd get those boots repaired, not replaced!
  20. There are desiccant that turns color when used up bad can be recharged. Throw a gallon or so in there and you're set. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  21. Being on a smartphone has gotten me pretty dumb on the computer. Hope someone chimes in, I'd love to see some of yours. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  22. Yes, because a .223 is larger than a .22. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  23. You can use any rifle in 3N now to hunt coyotes, provided it is .22 or smaller. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  24. A coyote was found in Central Park Manhattan in the past, as well as LI recently. I've seen a few nice sign in Putnam and soon rifle season on them will be open there. You can use Rimfire and some small centerfire now. For Westchester, probably best bet is with the bow or air gun, as the shotgun would be tough to reach. 25. 3S is and will be open. Good luck if you do go out. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://Facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
