School cancelled here too. It just started snowing. Coming down pretty good. I planned on having the house to myself today..peace and quiet??? Damn snow..

Sunny and around 40 today. calling for snow to start around 0200 and snow through out the day tomorrow. I generally like the winter time, but this late in the game it's total B.S.

M&P shield in either 40 cal or 9mm. The pistol is thin ( single stack mags) but the grip is long enough so that your pinky isn't hanging off. Very concealable. Right around $500.

A lot of them out around here too. I saw a bunch in three different fields last night. One bunch were all bedded down about fifty yards out from the road. Thought that was kind of funny.

For long, cold late season sits I go with a Woolrich wool hunting coat. Red and black. I just put my orange vest over it. It's by far the warmest coat I own and I own quite a few of them.

You have the right to defend yourself, or to defend someone else, against what you to believe to be the "imminent" use of deadly physical force. You don't have to wait until a person is actually using deadly physical force against you or someone else. If say an intruder was in you home and was unarmed. You order him at gun point, to leave and he advances towards you. I would consider that an attempt by the douche to disarm me and use the weapon against me or my family. "BANG"

I bought my sportsman 700 efi in 07. I originally went in with the intent of buying a 500 efi. The way the rebates worked out, the 700 was only like $350 more (or maybe even less) than the 500 efi so I went for it. The 700 is a bear. all kinds of power and it pushes snow like a b!#ch but a little over kill for most hunting/trail riding.

IMHO CCI 22 LR is very good ammo. I found a couple boxes of CCI stingers the other day. I haven't seen those in forever.

About an hour ago I barely stopped in time for a few crossing the road in front of my truck. As I sat there I could make out 8 or 10 feeding in the field. I have been seeing them almost every evening and during the day I can see where they are digging the hell out of the fields.

I think a 4 or 500 would be fine. A lot of 400 models (and even smaller) have a low gear range that gives you much more power at low speed. The next time I buy a new ATV I won't go any bigger than a 500.

I have a Polaris sportsman 700 efi. The thing is awesome. Tons of power but its also wide. Tight trails can be a pain. Last year I used my Kawasaki prairie 360 way more than the 700. Its way more maneuverable in tight spots and has enough power. But ground clearance is lower than the 700 & I got myself stuck in a couple spots that the 700 would rip right through.

I think that any brand will suit your needs, as long as the machine has been reasonably maintained and not beaten on. Look at the body plastic. If its real faded its a good bet that the thing was stored outside. Also, check undercarriage for damage. As far as size, I don't think you need a real big ATV for hauling game & gear but 4 wheel drive is nice to have. You should be able to find something, that is reliable, for around 3k. Good luck.

Actually a pistol grip on a semi shotgun is fine but a thumbhole, on the same shotgun is illegal. Thats how much of a joke this law is.

Yeah.. you need to check that, because Im pretty sure the thumb hole B.S. does not apply to bolt guns. There are thumb hole bolts sitting on gun store selves right now in NY . But I have heard that a lot of companies are saying "F.U." to New york and LIL King Andy, since the SAFE ACT travesty. It might just be their policy.i

Serious opinions were given. I believe the consensus was pelvic bones. Some good natured humor followed, but thats all it was. No name calling, nothing mean. I would think that even the most "perpetual adolescent" would be able to see that.

It seems that her question may have been totally innocent. I have bought a long gun or two over the years and can recall a few salespersons asking me the same question. I always took it to mean "what game are you hunting" My reply was always something like "Deer" or "Turkey". If the woman asked the question sarcastically or with a scowl on her face then thats a different story.
