  1. Depends on the tree stand……….But yeah at times it can get pretty dull….
  2. Yeah but what about an equal playing field? xbow from a stand vs. bow from a stand…..xbow from the ground vs. bow from the ground.
  3. Im not really opposed to the whole xbow thing. I will continue to bow hunt but when I get older and less and less able to draw a bow, I can see myself getting a xbow. That being said I think that there is little arguing that taking a deer with a crossbow is easier than taking one with a bow.
  4. Get yours while you can because xbows are gonna become hard to find real soon...
  5. I talked to a guy who bought one a while back & he loves it. I guess its a tack driver. It takes AR mags. (223 cal.) it also comes in .308
  6. I think that the $10 is just for the background check on the buyer. Places add additional fees, for filing the paperwork "administrative fees" etc…...
  7. I use a Nikon 2-7x32. I think its perfect.
  8. I did one a while back, at Gander Mountain. They only charged $10. After watching the guy do all of the paperwork I think $10 was a steal. It took the guy a good 20-30 minutes. Im sure smaller shops will charge more.
  9. I shot iron sights, on my shotguns, for years. I didn't go to a scope until 1995. My first few muzzle loader deer were taken with a 50cal. side hammer loaded with patch and ball. They worked.
  10. The gun has to go through an ffl. The buyer and seller both have to be there, with I.D. for the transfer. Its $10.00 but don't be surprised if the ffl adds other fees. The ammo is fine, as long as its not being sold at a profit.
  11. Never said that "it was all about gun control" I believe that a large number of anti hunters are also anti gun and that agenda is as important to them as the anti hunting aspect. If this were a court and I was the judge I would have the stenographer read back the minutes so that you understood exactly what I said and meant. Again, its just one guy giving his opinion.
  12. I didn't high jack anything. I simply gave my opinion on what I think one aspect of the anti agenda. (IMHO means "in my humble opinion…i think) And I am not, have never been and have never indicated that I was an attorney. If you assumed that, then that was a mistake on your part. If you don't want people to interject their opinions then you should preference that in your posts…Then get over yourself
  13. The DEC DID NOT let 5 cougars go..it was 7 cheetahs. A guy who works at Valvoline instant oil change told me last week. Don't believe those bull $hiters at Lowes.
  14. I know that you can order ammo from Gander Mountains web sight, and have it shipped to a local GM. Then you just pick it up at the store. No paperwork or anything to fill out, just go get it once it comes in.
  15. God bless every one of those men.
  16. Hunting contests or often held for management of certain game also. But I think the difference, for the antis is that no one is shooting fish with a big, bad dangerous gun. I think that the antis agenda is as much anti gun as it is anything else. IMHO
  17. He had to get in one last dig on guns and the NRA. Arrogant little twerp. Hey Peirs ! Will your next job supply you with any type of armed security? Or can't Masengale afford that? Peris of crap.
  18. A lot of good points. They went all out to show that this, above all other things, was a long range turkey load. The main point of the whole add was range. How much energy will the pellets have left at 60+ yards? Enough to punch paper but how much more? I don't know.
  19. I still don't see how the 7 round rule was deemed arbitrary and unconstitutional, but dictating what grip or stock you can have on a long gun wasn't ???
  20. Just had my Nissan inspected last week. No problems
  21. I still might go the o/u route one of these days. I can't find a gun that I like. Like you said, Its either too nice to tape up and drill into or its too cheesy. I had my eye on one a few years ago that would have been perfect, It was matt finished had factory sling studs and was fairly light. I dont recall the name of it but it was made in Italy. Not a beretta.??? it was about $700 used. I waited too long and it was gone. Im still half a$$ looking.
  22. Entertaining, but beyond unsafe not to mention fake..LOL!
  23. Ouch..I have hat toms right on top of me too and ended up taking their heads clean off. Not pretty. Because of that I have always thought about hunting turkeys with an over under. Full choke on top IC on the bottom.
