$300 is a tough call on a new rifle. Around here the Savage Axis goes for around $340 and the Ruger American is about $400. No scopes. I would bite the bullet and go for the Ruger.

Yeah, a lot of places are still pretty low, but I was thinking of my area. The local Gander Mtn. has tons of everything. 9mm, .45, .40, .380, .38,.223, .5.56, and most other rifle cals. No problem, They even have bulk packs. They get 22LR in on a fairly regular basis but the hoarding continues so it doesn't last. When a date is announced "POOF!" all gone.

As soon is a definite date is announced there will be another mad rush & the shelves will be empty again. I believe there is a fee for the background checks.

Yeah…I saw a movie a while back called "Code Talkers" It was the same thing. At first I thought " Too much hype and glorification". But after a while I thought about all of the sacrifices these guys made and realized that if it wasn't for these "heroes" we would be screwed.

I have seen several 99's with that same problem. The side safety gets worn and eventually just flops back and forth. I'd say get it to a gunsmith.

That R-51 looks like a good little rig. It appears to be about the same size as the Ruger LC9. Its suppose to have a single action trigger as opposed to the long stiff pull of the LC9 trigger.

Im pretty sure that the little King was a no show for the NYS Fair this past summer. An event that the Governor usually attends, at least for a quick photo op. I had been hearing all summer that people were planning on protesting him at the fair. I don't think we will see ammo background checks until after the election.

There is a recall on the firing pin on Winchester 100's. No big deal. Winchester will send you the part, free of charge. You just have to have it installed. Just an FYI

This whole thing kills me….the judge ruled that telling a person that he/she can load a magazine with only 7 rounds was "arbitrary". But telling a person what stock he/she can put on their long gun isn't "arbitrary". Now we have DA's who are interpreting the decision differently?
