  1. Took a walk this morning (beautiful day) saw fresh scratching and tracks. Then later, on my way home after running some errands, saw some out in the field. Still not sure where to set up first thing…..It will drive me nuts all night. Good luck and stay safe...
  2. Sounds like a .410 is the way to go. I bought my son a Rossi single shot 410, when he was a little guy,6 or 7years old. He had no problems cocking or firing it. It also came with a single shot 22LR barrel. I think it was $100 brand new.
  3. As usual………..street filth finding a reason to openly act like the street filth animals that they are, and a cowardly biased politician ( the mayor) dropping the ball. Never seen this before………LOL!!
  4. Good rig…I bought my 835 when they first came out. 20+ years ago. It has the corny old woodland camo on it which I love. RETRO!! I don't even know how many birds have fallen to the mighty Mossberg loaded with 3 1/2" Double X #4 or #5. I use the factory choke. I have tried a few aftermarket chokes but the pattern difference was so small that I went back to " all original"
  5. Based on the posted comments,,,,,, Im not even going to watch.,,,My Scum bag tolerance level is full for the month……..
  6. Im also in Cicero and the numbers do seem to be down. I have been seeing a few toms with hens, off and on but not like I use to. Although, this weekend, I did have to stop and let 4 hens cross in front of my truck on Cicero Center RD.
  7. Yeah.. Sounds like the guy shot the dog just to shoot it. I think that a lot of people look for excuses to shoot dogs, because they have had real problems with stray dogs in the past. But in this case a phone call and a plastic bag could have done wonders.
  8. Hoping for Manny but Im thinking a long "cover up" fight and Mayweather takes it.
  9. With a name like Gaylord you will be forced to be a tough S.O.B. Its like "a boy named sue".
  10. Admitting that you shot a dog (nuisance dog or not) for crapping on your property???? Not going to go well for ya…... But if after the dog did his business he came at you aggressively???
  11. After a tom has answered me a couple of times, and I know he is within 100 yds or so, I make one excited series of yelps and then I shut up for a while. Maybe just a soft cluck or two. Its hard to resist the urge to call back when a bird is gobbling at you but it works for me more often than not. Im no expert but I think the tom thinks that the hot hen is losing interest or has hooked up with another tom. A lot of times the bird will move in to investigate.
  12. One thing I can tell everyone, and take from it what you want. The number of illegal, untraceable never to be surrendered firearms that are right now, in the hands of career criminals, and will eventually be used to victimize people, is astonishing. People have no idea. I tell you this from 100% first hand experience.
  13. I finally started seeing a few birds. Not a lot but I know they're out there. Gett'n psyched

Nope…As long as he used HIS "hard earned cash" to take care of HIS kids first. Drink up
  17. I once had an old Mossberg 20 ga. bolt action. It had separate chokes (full, mod. improved) that screwed onto the outside of the muzzle. Not as ugly as a polychoke…but still ugly.
  18. When you saw a pick up parked, with a long gun in the back rack, you knew to walk over and see if the guy had a deer in the bed. Now if I saw a guy driving with a gun in the rack, I would wonder how long it would be before he got pulled over.
  19. Mossberg 500 with that "abomination" of a choke was my first gun. I still have it. My father, who knew nothing about guns, brought it home for me from Ames Department store. I think he paid about $120 for it new. I remember thinking, "what the hell is with the ugly choke thing?" But I didn't complain. It did shoot slugs pretty well at 50 yards and I took my first deer with it.
  20. I usually don't but I have had a little success with them. If a tom is going off and there is a lot of open space between my set up and him, I might put one out. Those new Avian x decoys do look like real birds but $$$$$$$.
