  1. A pull up to be a pull up must start with both shoulders and elbows fully extended. Then pull up until chin is over the bar ... return to starting position ... and repeat. 100 in 25 minutes while also doing 200 legitimate push ups ... I bet you can't do it ... with me doing the counting! Neither the latissimus dorsi, nor the pectoralis muscles work to hold the bow or other weight at shoulder height. Deltoids do....!!
  2. 300-500 wide grip pullups.....Sounds IMPOSSIBLE!!! And, would have no benefit with regard to holding a bow up. (Let's see....500/week would be 70+/day.....I don't think so!)
  3. Thanks....Now you have me wondering: Would a mix of water, tomato juice and red wine work??
  4. Back when I was shooting a recurve...45lbs (killed 'em dead); when I moved up to a compound...50lbs (also killed 'em dead)
  5. I have a really easy and very tasty recipe for snack salami. First chance I get, I will whip up a batch using two parts ground goose and one part fat beef. Report to follow.
  6. Redhawk is a GREAT choice....It is a REAL handgun!
  7. Sounds good, but submerged.....in what? We soak the breast steaks overnight in tomato juice....Then slice them very thin on a slight bias and flash fry in hot, hot butter....serve on good rolls with fried onions, peppers, mushrooms......Delicious!
  8. You must understand....the real bad guys make for tough targets. We, law-abiding hunters/gunowners are easy targets. Ergo....the lawmakers target us! Somehow, we must promote ourselves as the good guys.
  9. Scout a lot....find a roost....set up before daylight, between roost and water....listen to the early birds talk....use a combination of poult sounds: kee kee, whistle, kee kee run, along with assembly yelps to lure birds to you. No lucky early...Fall birds are very vocal; stillhunt through the woods listening for them. When you hear them...use those same calls. Or, blind call as you move through the woods.
  10. Grow....do you ever use that dehydrator for fruit/vegetables??
  11. For those of you who do not have smokers...it is possible to make very, very good snack salami (aka summer sausage) using liquid smoke in your recipe. I do both, smoker and non-smoker....I defy you to tell the difference.
  12. My favorite slugs have always been the now obsolete ACTIV slugs. I have also had success with Winchester and Federal rifled slugs. Of the contemporary slugs made for smoothbores, I really like Fiocchi Aero Slugs.
  13. You hit the nail on the head: They are entertainers !!! Sport has become theatre; it is possible that true sport no longer exists. In my opinion, MLB's "best drug oversight program in pro sports" is a bit of a joke. These guys being suspended didn't start "using" yesterday. Their use was ignored for years. Look at MLB today: Don't you wonder how Baltimore's Chris Davis managed to hit more homers in the first half of this season that he hit in any full season prior? Don't you wonder how old man Ortiz of Boston is having a year much better than great young ballplayers in their prime? (Ortiz is at least guilty of "phone rage"!!!) We have not heard the end of PED's in MLB.
  14. Uh, Oh...Paula....are you engaging in name-calling? No problem...I think you are weird, too! You obviously cannot entertain any lines of thought that are not your own.
  15. "Jungle of garbage plants"....Hmmm, that's an interesting term. Those "garbage plants" were most likely put their by the MASTER GARDENER. To think that you can do better makes me wonder where else you choose to play God......?? Please do remember that multi-flora rose, common buckthorn, purple loosestrife and other such plants came to us through similar good intentions.
  16. Many good replies here....Thank you....Keep up your good work.
  17. It would appear that those who plant food plots, do so to increase the rack size of whitetail bucks shot in/over or close to said plots so as to acquire bragging rights to a big buck. That said, I would ask, "Anyone here plant food plots just to benefit wildlife...whitetails, in particular...who does not, nor does not allow, hunting over the food plots? I would really like to hear from food plotters who have no interest in shooting bucks that use their plots. Anyone??
  18. It was established in the courts some time ago that police have no obligation to protect individual citizens. This is precisely why we must fight hard to retain the right to protect ourselves...using firearms when the situation warrants such. Interesting that police have no obligation to protect us....but they are obligated to enforce legislation such as the SAFE Act that detracts from individual rights and freedoms...and they do so willingly! In NY, cops work for Uncle Andy and his legislative henchmen!
  19. Food plots are not bait piles ONLY when no one hunts over them. Those who cultivate "food plots", only to hunt over them later on....are baiting, plain and simple! They are the sorryest of hunters!!
  20. WesternNY....You consider your bait pile a challenge to hunt. My guess is that you would find it a challenge to hunt your way out of a WalMart parking lot. Guys like you make all hunters look bad!
  21. WesternNY...You are an idiot! Most likely you rely on food plots aka bait piles to shoot a deer. Yep....YOU are the stupid one!
  22. If you hunt over food plots...and most food plotters do...you are baiting!
  23. Wow...nice fish; Some good eating there!
  24. For what it's worth: We tried only a couple types of .44 ammo, before quickly settling on Hornady 240 gr. XTP loads....Worked for us!
  25. While the scope is a good idea; We have found the little Ruger to shoot great with open sights. Get one...you will like it!
