Lite line and Lite drag will boat you guys more fish I gaurantee it. It might take a little longer to get them in but the action on your lure will be more enticeing with lighter line.

Well I dont know about you guys, but around here its been way to warm. 50 at night and 60s during the day. I will say after because the extended forcast is showing 30's at night and 40's during the day for my hunting area. And just in time to the rut should be really fireing up come the 1st week of November. Which is good because I have the 3rd through the 11th off. This rainy crappy week cant end soon enough!!!

Why such the heavy line? I routinely caught them on 15lbs line out of Toledo Bend Res in Louisiana. Though wire hooks do not work well for the 40lbers. I got one that was probally close to 40 lbs that straightened the hook out and when I went to pick him up out of the water the hook pulled out and I lost him. Really sucked.

They were in the process of trying to wrap up all the military equipment that was laying around and keep it from getting in the wrong hands. If I was a betting man I would say they ticked off the wrong people. I find it interestting that of the 8 American ambassador's killed 5 have been killed in Muslim Countrie's. one in south America, and two in plane crashes. If we have such a bad record with Muslim countries why wasnt there a better security team put in place. Piss poor planing results in piss poor results. Just sayin.

You might be getting to sweaty with that much walking and as warm as its been. I get to sweaty most of the times just walking 300 yrds to my stand. I would suggest carrying your hunting clothes in a seperate bag and wearing something else to walk in. Once you arrive on stateland strip down and wipe yourself down with scent away wipes, put on scent away deoderant and get dresses in freshly washed hunting clothes everytime. The wind in hill country is alot more fickle than on flat ground. And I would even saw it just swirrles and there is no way to keep it in your face. So being as scent free as possible is your best bet.

Yeah we got a few bone heads on here that dont think before they type. The area around Hurley looks to be heavily forested and steep in most of your state land area's. That is challenging to start with.I concure with what oneidacnthnt said. Successful bow hunting starts with intimate knowledge of the surrounding terrain and how the deer relate to it. Find the trails the food and the sign.

Also, another piece of advice. You might want to proof-read your posts and correct with some proper grammar. I think it'll only help get your point across. Dont worry, no one give a crap about your grammer skills.

I have and use one to spy on other people hunting. They get very descriptive of where they are and where the deer are running. If I hear A shot I put it on scan and listen in.

My stupid arse cousin just got busted for baiting. Shot a Doe over corn, neighbor turned him in. DEC showed up took Doe and tags and fined him $250. He has his court date soon to, I hope they take the rest of his tags to, he's a menace.

Frustrating, I dont have one pic of a deer on my cam after leaving it out for 2 weeks. I could have sworn there would be some bucks on it but not even a doe is ridiculious. I hope its not broken. I moved it and will see how it gos.

My phone actually got me a buck one time. My wife texted me and I stopped to answer it. She asked if I had seen a deer yet and I said no. I put it back in my pocket. Turned and here comes a buck. I shot him and pulled out the phone and said scratch that I had just shot a nice 8 point. She txt'd back She didnt beleive me so I took a pic and sent it.

My friends would think I was a pinata and beat me with sticks to see if any candy would fall out.

My guess unless they are following a doe or they are pushed past you you will not see them again. Thim big haus bucks didnt get big being dumb. JMO.

Ive always heard not to put up cams anywhere near your stands?

I got my Field and Stream Mag today and it had a nice 3 page article about his buck he took last yr. Just wanted to say Congrats. His buck is below.

The Mountain Lions in the back were getting restless and he was in a hurry to drop them off somewhere near where you hunt.

The shed on the right is what I beleive belongs to the buck I amd hunting and when I refer to the big 8. He's even bigger this yr. And next pic is just for scale.

Try the Agway in Binghamton they carry mucks for good prices, I picked up a pair of arctic pro's last yr that are outstanding. Got them for 100$ which is cheaper than any where else.
