  1. Depends on your parol officer and afterwards what class or rights you have restored. My dumba-- cousin is going through this right now. He just got out of the upstate pen for 5 yrs for being on parole and hunting and taking 2 turkey and a deer without a license. ( dumba-- ) Anyway his PO said he couldnt hunt at all or own a weapon for atleast a yr. Sucks to be him. http://nycrimbar.org...of%20Rifles.pdf
  2. I saw a hunting show where a kid found a broken off antler on his way to the stand and 1/2 hr later he shot the same deer and matched the antler up on camera. It was pretty cool.
  3. I think im begining to come around to your way of thinking on this one. If it was truely a good hunt there would be a story. Sounds like the DEC did an investigation and couldnt prove anything and this guy dropped off the earth So he doesnt incriminate himself. If you shot this deer in a truely legit hunt there would be a story, this guy just up and dissapeared.
  4. I went up and sprayed peach scented hand sanitizer on it today. Am going to contact my cousin today and let him know about it. See what he say's.
  5. Yes , yes I did. Funny thing had the front stuffer leaning against the tree and was so pissed off I wasnt paying attention where the shavings were going. They were going right down my barrell. What a dumbarse. Had to take the loader apart and clean it which pissed me off even more. For farts sake I hate this guy.
  6. Dang, that ought to push him over the edge. If he wins the big bucks story thingy I call dibs on his winnings if he's not on here anymore.
  7. Actually it is illegal ee. No person shall possess paint balls or paint ball guns on State lands, and no person shall sponsor, conduct or participate in any activities associated with the discharging of paint balls on State lands.
  8. lololol What do you mean chickens can be pretty usefull around the house.
  9. So far we only have problems with people who shoot big deer, in citys, behind fences, out of treestands and heated box blinds, over bait, 5 min before or after sunup or down, with a scoped inline, crossbow, or Mathews bow ( because mathews bow owners are only over compansating for short comings in other areas )While sitting 50 yrds from another hunter on stateland who wound deer and ruin our experiance. Did I miss anything?
  10. Did she say " Boy you sure do got a purrdy mouth "
  11. Im not sure if people have more of a problem with suburban hunting or that he got lucky and killed what they consider to be a tame animal, which is probably far from the truth. Mature bucks are wiley no matter where they are born. Just because they see humans every day doesnt mean you can just walk up to them and pet them. It probably would have killed you if you tried. If we had more suburban hunting, Ickthica wouldnt be in the pickle they are in. What really suprises me is that he lived as long as he did without getting creamed on some road.
  12. I say scoreable loosely. I think They are considered altered or freaks of nature so they are not scored or kept in record books.
  13. So i go out tonight to a 60 acre tract of land My cousin owns. Its a good doe spot and usually results in a filled tag. Well over the yrs my success at this spot has spread and other hunters have trickled in pretty much resulting in the extermination of most of the deer in the area. Well I stopped hunting it when the orange hoard took it over. Seems to be a problem with my family they just dont know how to say no to other hunters and as a result most of my familys land is devoid of deer once hunting season starts. Well all that is besides the point. I have been harrasing the deer pretty hard at another spot so I decided to give them a few days break so I headed back to my cousins land. Well I head to a good spot that had produced in the past and started snooping around checking things out seing if I could find some tracks or anything. Well I start finding tracks and rubs and huge scrapes and droppings all over the place. I'm thinking fantastic maybe this place has come back. So I sit for a while and its just to warm, I dont think the deer are going to move till it gets dark so I decide to do a little armed recon of the rest of the property. I havent gone more than 40 yrds from where I have been sitting when I run into a treestand up in this pine tree. Well I look down and there is a pile of bait by my feet. Looks like pears and some sort of feed block made out of corn. Well now im pissed because Ive basically been hunting over bait for the last 2 hours. So I releived myself on the bait pile and stood there and carved BAITING IS ILLEGAL DIPS--T on the tree next to it all the while spitting skoal all over the bait. So then I head to the other side of the property as far away from the bait as I could get and lo and behold there is another pile there to so I do the same thing as before and leave pissed of. My question is what to do. Im afraid if I make a stink he might just stop letting everyone hunt there and lose a pc of property. I had my cell out ready to call the DEC but have to think this over a bit. Should I call my cousin and let him know whats going on? I was thinking of just going up with a box of mothballs an pouring it on the pile and around the guys stand and hope he gets the picture. What to do what to do.
  14. A deer can have as many points as its rack can make. Below is the Barnacle buck. It has 134 scoreable point. Barnacleism is thought to be a result of a testie or both being removed somehow causing the deers hormones to go crazy. Besides the Duppers made a song about shooting a 30 point buck so there has to be such a thing.
  15. It's never Gods plan for anyone to just be plain stupid. God put a head on his shoulders, now he should try and use the grey matter between his ears to try and keep it on his shoulders and not splattered all over the tree tops. I was hunting with one of my friends one time and he had his gun cradled in his arms and we were standing there talking. He kept turning and pointing to where he was hunting and not watching where the barrel of his loaded gun was pointed. I told him if that barrel points at me again I am going to wrap my shotgun around you head. It didnt point at me anymore.
  16. Depends on where you are from. In the North it's not to popular yet. But in the south it is especially Lousiana and Alabama per my experiance. Most are placed on " green fields " or food plots or over bait on private leases or camps. I have been to some leases where you were required to sit in them and you had to sign in at the gate and hang your key on a stand location. You are not allowed to move from the location untill it got dark. If I remember right it's an Insurance thing. They don't want people walking around through the woods getting shot by other members. I personnally dont like it because I just fall asleep.
  17. Anyone own one ? How well do they work. They seemed to have gotten the best reviews out of the cheaper Stealths.
  18. Found out what was beating the crap out of my buck. Neighbor killed a 198lbs 8 point 22 inch spread with 3 inch bases sometime this week 300 yrds from where I got this one.
  19. Is that a cooper or a red tail? I have one up by my stand that has squirrel killing down to a science. I watched him just about everytime I went out with bow. For some reason he likes to sit and hunt where I hunt. Absolutely amazing how quiet they are sailing through the woods. Squirrels never even get a chance.
  20. Ive heard of this before. It was on the news one time. Some guy had a female grouse that would fly out of the woods and ride on his shoulder everytime he would get on his 4 wheeler and ride around. It was pretty cool. I had a male pheasent one summer that would come out of the woods and run around the yrd eating bugs every time I would mow the lawn. He was pretty cool. And when I was a kid we had a bobwhite quail that just appeared out of knowhere and hung out with our chickens he even struted and chased hens around it was hilarious.
  21. 150grains of t7 and 240 grain XTPS have put 3 deer on the ground for me every yr for the last 4 yrs. Have never had a problem with flyers that wasn't my fault pulling it off target. Was useing the t/c bullets but they didn't seem to expand enough for my likeing. XTP's are like a grenade going off inside the deer. If they dont take a dirt nap as soon as the bullet hits them they dont make it 50 yrds. Also make sure you are seating the bullet properly, tight on your pellets. And clean before each reload.
  22. Bagley's Whitetail white and Peckerhead red are pretty tasty also.
